    STi vs Mach 1 mustang

i was driving on the way to north county mall today in escondido when i see a yellow mustang in my rear coming up next to me at the stoplight. i see all the mach 1 emblems and such. 300 hp right? well he asks if i want to go, i say sure. he had 1 passenger, i had none. the light turns green and i take off slow then punch it. obviously i take it off the line. it suprised me, i just kept on pulling on him. i could hear his engine slowly fading away in the back. we shut off at about 105. i asked the guy what he had. he said magnaflow exhaust. didnt even ask what i had just waved and took the onramp to the freeway. i am happy to say that a bone stock STi can hang with a mach 1. i wouldnt mind having a mach 1 though.

They tend to trap over 104mph. So STI owners need to be wary about going against them from a roll.

no problem any speed, any elevation, any condition, in a straight line. any curves, forget it. STI stock with any skill will eat it. i know this from personal experience at an undisclosed Navy base in So Cal. Not in the same class at all.

........straight line they tend to be a lil faster as the speed increases, more so after 100. This talk about an STI eating a Mach 1 in a straight line from any speed is utter rubbish. The Mach 1 traps higher on average, it pulls more up top. And I have personal experience with this also.

.. yep, Ive taken one out as well. It was a good race! I had him by about a car and half (up to 85 mph till I sand-bagged it), and back then, I was stock.

Good run. I ran one 3 times from a roll about a year ago when I was stock. He had an exhaust and that was it. Each time, I'd pull about 2 lengths and then slowly (and I mean slowly) walk a bit more. For example up to around 120, I only had 3 cars on him. He wouldn't go from a launch though.
