2005 WRX vs 1995 chevy cavilier

so between these 2 cars... a WRX and a cavilier...

WRX has a HKS hi-power catback and a K&N drop in filter...

and the Cavilier has a catback an intake... iridium plugs and a 80 shot i belive its a dry 'Nos' set up

who do u think will win?

me with the WRX or him with the... other car i have cavilers

anyways... he wants to drop 200 on it... im a OK driver... quick shifting but not the BEST launcher
its a Z24 by the way...dunno if therse much of a difference

Are you serious? Maybe I'm missing something but I say WRX all the way.

    1) this is a double post.

    2) I think you guys failed to miss the 80shot. Its a high15sec car stock. with the 80shot and intake and exhaust it can be running mid 14's which "could" beat a basically stock subbie if he gets a bad launch

Learn to launch. And get a downpipe...... and run it open for the race. Or just open turbo if you are a crazy mo fo. lol. I wonder if you could burn a hole in your firewall doing that??

I don't mean to hijack but I had to run my downpipe open to get to a muffler shop and my car seemed to run like crap. I'm running stage 2 utec and am not sure why it would do that. Any suggestions why?? Just curious.

Back on topic...I'm putting my $$ on the rex. The cavalier is probably not running to it's full potential because of its age and also it sounds like it's probably been run hard.

Wrx should win with a decent launch. If you fcuk up the launch, i think it might be pretty close considering the cavalier has a 80 shot.

Say youll race him in about 2 weeks and tell him to practice. Two days later hell come in saying his motor exploded and doesn't know why. Who puts an 80 shot on a stock cavalier? wtf =/

Actually before my WRX and STi, I had a 2.2l OHV base cavalier, with built trans, 3angle valve job, stainless valves, dual valve springs, titanium pushrods, stage II clutch and a 75 shot of NX wet. And ran 14.5's with DR's.

A Z24 with an 80shot could be a 13.9 second car, provided the guy can drive. Stock 2002 Z24's with the 2.4l Twincam have run as fast as 15.4. I think you said its a 1995 which makes it a 2.3l Quad4 L.O. at fastest 15.6 stock when it was new. It could be close. The Quad4 in the 1995 cavs, is a relative of the Quad 4 H.O. that came in the Olds Calais and Quad442's, and Achieva SCX's. Some had as high as 190hp NA stock in the late 80's. and were high 14second cars and autoX killers. If he has done a head swap with the H.O. engine 13.s for sure with that 80shot.
