    One of my friends back in the day had an 80's tercel 4wd wagon... it was a great little DD and great mpg... it was slow as all hell (even more then my old samurai I think) but it was awesome in the snow...

    The Tercels are very nice cars let down mostly by underdamped noses and slow steering. This means they can be a little floaty at speed but otherwise they really are brilliant.

    They make a very good choice and I'd drive one any day.
