Any plans for a WRX RS?

I love how mistu offers a stripped down (way down) version of the lancer and sells it for $3500 less than the regular model. I'd love to see a WRX RS version for around $20k or so and not have all the crap like A/C, power steering windows locks mirrors and all that other junk. just a pure performance machine

I hope to see a Spec C, but the 2.0L or 2.5L will likely be the same we get currently...

I would LOVE to own a EDM model... with all the goodness of what STi really is!

well, there is no such thing as a "WRX RS", but Subaru does produce a lightweight stripped racier version called a Spec C. And the JDM/ EDM spec STi 2.0L engines are actually better than the US 2.5L. To quote other less than friendly members "do a search n00b!!1"

Yes the 2.0L sti engine can hold more boost than the us spec 2.5L. Boost=power.

I love how people spread information based on rumour and not fact. The 2.0 has been out..oh lets see...about a decade longer than the 2.5. Give it some time folks, give it some time. The true limits of the 2.5 with good tuning are still being explored. To state anything else is pure conjecture. I seem to remember numerous DSM's going "boom" when the tuning world first caught on to them. Now how about today?

that particular block may be able to hold a bit more but apples to apples a 2.5 is gonna make more power and torque than a 2.0....apples to apples that is

edm yeah i guess would be like jdm you just dont hear it thrown around as much.

A stripped down version of the wrx or sti would be great. No power windows or locks, no a/c, just the good stuff. Sell the wrx for about 20 and the sti version for about 27.

well ya figure the lancer VIII sells for around $31k and the RS selles for around $27k

its too bad the lancer rs is the only real pure "race" car you can get into for resonable money nowadays

Thank goodness someone knows what they are talking about.

Yeah, I guess some of the people making 400-500chp in their STi's must be really disappointed with not having the 2.0L.

Are you allowed to Rally with a 2.5 engine or is it 2.0 "class".
