04 rex wagon vs. 2.5GT limited 05 sedan

To make this story short my mom has always been a die hard BMW Xi fan. She bought a new one in 1997 and later sold it for a new durango in 2000. Two months ago she was fishing for another BMW Xi, when I told her she should test drive the new 05 gt limited sedans. The test drive made her fall in love with scoobies. So anyway its the fastest car shes ever driven. She thinks if its more expensive than the WRX's and has more horsepower stock its got to be faster right. Plus you gotta consider she has average female knowledge about cars. I was on the freeway with my dad, my sister's boy friend and my winter skiing junk when my mom pulls up to me on I-84 heading to portland. I was doing about 70; we looked over to see my mom and sister giving us the stare, so I shifted into 4th and hit it. My mom puched her car and I pulled on her the whole way staying in fourth gear to about two car lenghts at 115 then I let off, its funny because my mom gave me the ol ricer by at about 125. I've driven her car quite a bit and it feels pretty fast, even though its the ol auto. All in all the 05 gt subaru's are definately great cars. Its a good story to tell my buddies about racing the ol lady.

    my mods:

    HKS up
    HKS down
    HKS Hi power exhaust
Perrin manual boost control, running 1 bar
    AVO short ram intake
    AVO BOV
    Tein S tech springs
    Short shift

All those mods and you only pulled 2 cars on the auto GT. It must have some good top end.

lighter car with same h.p sure will in the 1/4 run faster. At 100+mph the dispacement/tourque sure helps the '05. and he had 200-300 lbs of people in the wrx.
And his mom may be a better driver .

My Legacy is now running at 17 psi, and I still have an up pipe to install. The time in my sig was at 15 psi.

The stock turbo is too small to make real boost in 1st & 2nd gear so it doesn't really start to move until after 50 or so..

LOL.... my mom has had over 7 speeding tickets in the past ten years. Its scary to ride with my mom if you've never done it before, she has no problem bouncing her car off the rev limiter in sport shift. I got her the new passport x50 8500 for x-mas this year. It probably wasn't such a good idea.

Anyways I put my mom down as a kill in my book.

Yeah she can be fun to ride around with. She ended up getting silver; her past couple cars were also silver. I usually let her drive when we go places, she can afford the tickets.

I'm still tripping over the fact that you raced your MOM... that's just down right unheard of. My mom freaks if I go 5 miles over the speed limit. crazy... just crazy.
