What do u guys think of the Chevy Cobalt SS?

does the 1/4 mile in about 14 someodd seconds at around 98 mph.

    fwd car and is supercharged with about 205 hp/ 200 lb/ft torque. Maybe it's Chevy's answer to Dodge's Srt-4.

    Msrp about $24k

It's a Chevy, need we say more? Don't worry though I'm sure we'll be running plenty of them on the streets.

Pretty weak answer. An SRT-4 would murder one of those. Start modding both....forget about it.

i like it and im a chevy guy. so yea i think it will keep up with the srt-4 down the road. plus if you got the green stuff anything can be fast... the msrp is a littel high but that will go down so if i had to take the colbolt ss or a srt-4.. looks i would take the ss over the srt, power wise its about equal cause like i said if you have mony they can be made fast or faster. pluse i see chevy devloping a special parts section like doges mopar. so what ever tickel you pickel i guess

it would be sick if someone swaped a zo6 or the new vette motor in one... might not fit but im sure you can tweak it a littel

Not to mention theyd need to convert to RWD....

Weak answer to the SRT-4 in my opinion but I will still like to see what the aftermarket does for the car.

Its a better looking Ion redline. Although I think it looks pretty good. I heard a more powerful one is going to be offered.(Car&Driver mag).

Its just a Saturn Ion redline in a Chevy body I would take an SRT-4 in a split second over it.

yea i was gonna add that its just another Saturn Ion Redline. i think its a good step for the compact market that these companies are making cheap high performing cars. I just hope the Cobalt gets better crash ratings than the SRT-4.

oh and i really like the Cobalt commercials w/ the new vette.

Definately. Although they are pumping big numbers out of the motor already and showing its potential. Before the Cobalt was on sale for the public, GM showed up at the Bonneville Salt Flats with their 800hp version of the Ecotec and would have easily taken the record for its class with a 243mph run. But Bonneville rules state in that class that the car and engine combo needs to be for sale to the public in order to obtain the record, so the record was not taken by Gm. YET!

There was also a Ecotec powered streamliner at Bonneville that ran 309mph.

I think it looks more like a rounded cavalier. Im a chevy fan but not worth the cash. If it was rwd then maybe a small consideration.

    So?

Chevy...Corvette, Camaro, etc. You're not associating Chevy with slow cars are you? If you are, that would be a very ignorant statment.

That's like me saying "It's a Subaru, need we say more? They're all lesbian cars." (I don't really think that, just making a point)

He may have been refering to the reliability issues and poor build quality.
