Serious question: how do you know? Did you measure at the wheel and at the crank?

hmm... I don't see how that is the case...

Unless you have a Subaru AWD system hidden under the bodyshell of the RSX?

IMHO Stage 2 WRX = Stock SRT-4 power for power. Just look at my signature. And I have owned both cars at both stages of modification.

its nice to hear from someone that has actually owned both...

how about stg II WRX and stock SRT from a roll at different speeds

From a roll it would be a drivers race. Each car has about 4000 usable rpms at their disposal. SRT has a lot more torque down low. But the SRT is useless in 1st and 2nd gear due to tire spin. I wish I could still own both cars, but I couldn't.

I know that the Type S had 200Hp at the crank, and the whp of a stock RSX Type S you can find anywhere online or even at acura if you so desired. I think it is around 162 or something like that.

Yea, the type s puts down bout 164whp. So it loses 40hp from the engine to the wheels =/. My friend has one, and my other friend has a GT-S. They have 180 to the crank, but 161 to the wheels. There is always debate between the two cars since they run such a close race stock for stock (such as the STI vs. Evo8). We tested to see if this was true. So on an empty street, we ran a couple times and it was so damn close. The celica had maybe barely half a car length on the type s. A lot of people think the type s will always win, but i believe its a drivers race. GT-S is bout 200lbs. lighter, with about 161whp. Type s is 200lbs. heavier, but with about 164whp. So yea, whp matters. Sry if i got off topic, but just thought it'd be interesting to share.

Well, I don't have a car yet, but I've been lookin into a lotta cars. I think I've come down to the WRX. What made your bro finally decide on a wrx? I was gonna go with the GT-S cause it's just a real fun car to drive in and i like the sporty look and feel of it and the VVTL-I. But just recently I've found out that the insurance on the celica will cost more than a wrx. At first i figured the WRX would cost more becuz of the turbo and everythng, but actually more youngsters like me get the celica and so are more likely to crash .

    He pee's standing up.

ok, maybe thats harsh, but celica's are not manly cars. the RSX may not be as macho as the Rex, but compared to the Celica is a freakin Lumberjack. lol.

Besides most GT-S you see on the road are Auto and driven by girls. Atleast the RSX-S isnt available in automatic.

oh, and the Celica was discontinued w/ the MR2 Spyder. I dunno about u but id never buy a Toyota/Lexus (they are very boring cars...minus 90's MR2-T, and Supra).

Hah... That is true. Everyone says the Celica is a girls car blah blah blah. This is how i see it... Yes, you do see hell of a lotta girls driving it. But they drive automatic GT's. You can't put the GT-S with 6speed down to that level. I've never seen a girl driven around in a GT-S that is stick. There is a big difference.'Sides, I don't think there is such thing as a "girls" car, except for the beetle. And if girls think the car looks good, and you own the car? just do the math lol. The RSX is a respectable car also, but i see it as more of a sports car for the mature. The celica is more fitted for teens my age. The small compact ya know? And yea, the celica and mr-2 spyders are discontinued... they say the tc is supposed ot be replacing them. (I think it's a mistake). And yea, one of my friends also has a 92 mr2-turbo. IMO, I like all japanese companies.

I had an RSX, and yes its built better than the Celica, and they used much nicer materials for the interior but its for young tuners just as much as the GT-S. Hell, the GT-S is more expensive than a RSX-S. and the majority of Celica's I see are auto GT-S. i cant imagine an Auto GT, that would be soooooo slow. 8sec car? at least they could race Civics. hahaha.

I hated it when girls drive an auto-RSX. if they have a Type-S or 5MT thats different b/c then thats hot. but most drive auto. but you dont see as many girls driving RSX's as celica's. hell you see more girls driving Mustang's then RSX's.

i like the tC. its a good looking car (eh, give me 20min w. the designers to redo the headlights). and there is a thread showing one w/ great WHP from tuning. But its 160hp like my old RSX, slower cus it weighs more, and the 200 SC option is like $4000. and u only gain 40hp at the crank.

its up to u, i vote for RSX or WRX.

because every single gts at dealers would come wiht a bunch of so called ''options''...none of them would come anywhere near msrp and the gts was gonna end up costing more than a wrx..best offer was 24500+registration for a gts..hmm no thanks

    This is analogy.
Test: Look at how many ford mustang drivers are women --> upwards of 80%. Check it out for yourself the next time you are on the highway. The new GT (nice shape) and of course the cobra = sweet
