    Raced a modded LT1.

Well I'm stock so needless to say I didn't win. He had full exhaust and superchips ecu reflash, probably making 330whp it was a AT. We went from a dig to about 75, I smoked him off the line all his wheels did was spin and I saw his back end going out. I was ahead of him all the way up to 50mph, then his top end just destroyed me after his tires got traction probably pulled 2-3 cars on me between 50-75mph. I didn't waste my gas running him from a roll. But he did beat a newer lighting from a roll with his setup.

I assume he was probably talking about a camaro.

good run man. Atleast you held him off until 50mph which counts for something in my book

I used to own an A4, 94z28 LT1 and it didn't make anywhere near 330rwhp with exhaust and superchips. LT1's dyno significantly lower than LS1s. Stock LT1's dyno around
    240 rwhp - much lower than LS1's.
    Saying that
LT1's , in stock form trap higher than a WRX. So it no suprise a slightly modded one walked away from you at higher speeds.
LT1s (especially automatics) can be made fast with basic mods.
I know a guy running mid 12s with full exhaust, cam, intake, throttle body, torque converter, drag radials.

Nah, the early LT1s were rated at 275 BHP which is about 240 rwhp.

I see at edmunds they say its listed at 285hp so about 240 stock is right. 0-60 is slower than the wrx, what was it's quater high 13s. What I raced against was probably 280whp. The american muscle lovers on here were saying that the LT1 is under rated and puts down 270whp.

Here are the HP rating table...

    Code:
    Factory Power Ratings

    93-95 LT1 F-Body: 275bhp, 325lb-ft
    96-97 LT1 F-Body: 285bhp, 325lb-ft
    96-97 LT1 WS6/SS: 305bhp, 335lb-ft
    93-97 LT1 Firehawks: 315bhp, 340lb-ft
As you could see, there are bit of HP differences with some models and years.
    N/A -- 11.9@119 1.911 60' w/street radials

I don't recall seeing that stated anywhere here recently... LS1's, on the otherhand, in the F-bodies are known to be underrated from GM.

Stock LT1's can be seen ranging from high 13's to mid 14's, depending on a few factors (trans, driver, weather conditions).

So I could of taken him if he was stock, hmmm I think I'll race again when I get some mods in a couple of months. He's probably not running anything more than mid 13s.
