Stg 4 vs. Skyline powered 240sx

Went to the parts store tonight and pulled up next to this cream colored 240 with a huge fartcan. I got out and noticed his car was running, by the time I got to the door it had cut off. Guess he had a turbo timer. Bought my part, came back outside & the guy was there checking the rex over. He said I had a nice car and asked if I wanted to run. Sure I said...whatcha got in it? He said an RB20 and I had a brain fart & said "You mean an SR20?" Nope, he said...an RB20. And then it hit me, the Skyline motor, at least one of the smaller ones. So a 2 liter vs. a 2 liter. He had full exhaust, a FMIC, and the motor, not sure what else. Both runs were from a roll, starting side by side at about 15 mph. Couldn't go from a stop because of traffic. By the time I hit 80 and had to slow, he was about 1 car length behind me. This was the result of the second run as well. Not too bad...I wish it has been an RB26!

VERY NICE! I cant imagine you encounter a car running that kind of swap to often. I think RB26 would have own'd you though.

    great race

    Nice find.

And you never know what people are running in their cars these days.

There is one guy running around the Bay Area with a 280Z with an RB26 conversion and killing LS1's regularly. You just never know what you will line up with. That's what makes modding so fun.

    Nice kill...

I guess I won't admit that I lost to my friends old '95 240 with an SR20DET swap while he was running anything more than 7lbs... only on the highway, though. He couldn't get traction with his cheap tires below 3rd gear

of course he had cams and a full catless 3" exhaust... but still...
