i just noticed..this post is slowly turning into a gtp post...on a wrx bored. lets not let that happen. i dont wanna hijack anything

zooomer just hit 10.8 with the stock m90 blower over the weekend (/hijack)

sorry to dig this thread from the dead, but one of the earlier posts wondered what it would take to get to 380whp. I just found a thread on the clubgp.com forum from a guy who just hit that mark on the dyno. His stats are as follows:

    11.514@117.92 1/4 mile
    1.662 60'
    120.44 mph
    382.2fwhp@6200rpm/485ft. lbs@4200rpm

It takes many thousands of dollars to get to this mark, so I highly doubt original poster's friend is making that much power. I'll try to find out specific mods and post them, if anyone's interested (probably not )

it would be nice to know the mods just so i know when people are bull ****ting me. the gtp's and ssei's here in grand forks think they own all, which they do besides me and a couple other "ricers."

I will say, though, that 380 CRANK hp may not be all that hard to get. If I get headers and a new cam next year, that would probably put me in the 340-350 range of crank hp (guessing, of course). Anyway, I asked the guy what his mods are, I'll post them as soon as I find out.

b/c it has enormous potential. ask that same question to the owners of 11 and 10 second gtps. hell, ask me...its a hobby, its b/c we love to. i hate to use this comparisson, but why do guys mod hondas (the guys who do TASTEFUL jobs)? b/c its their hobby, their passion...so thats basically why we do it.

plus, to surprise the hell out of guys who think we're slow

i hear ya 99gulfblue gtp, i kno its a quick car, my friend has a 98 gtp, just no challenge for me i guess in my wrx or in my other car(his gtp isnt stock either), i kno the stock torque is crazy on that car. an ur comparison to hondas, dont put gtp's in that boat, i got a lot more respect for a gtp, hondas, theres no such thing as tastefully modding one. i guess around me there arent a lot of gtp's putting out crazy numbers like you mention.

also you get as much power per dollar as you do a wrx, both cars take VERY well to mods. So in the end you have a comfy family sedan that comfortably seats 5, has a HUD, and can beat "almost" anything on the street.

Total sleeper value (at least not anymore, people are starting to learn about GTP's)

I guess you could ask the question "why bother modding a wrx?"...for the same reasons (minus the sleeper part of course)
