I know for a fact the lower base models are pretty slow. Back when I had my b16 swapped civic hatch I was able to put a couple of car lengths on one from 60ish to 90ish. It possibly could have been an auto but it was definitely SLOW. My hatch was by no means fast... so I'm guessing it was his momentum that you couldn't over come, or he could be lying out of his ass and be turbo.

The 222hp 3000gt if in stock form is good for mid to low 15s, its very similar to the NA supra that was good for 14.9-15.3 in stock form 5 speed. I would imagine if he was stock you could beat him even from a roll if you both took off at the same time.

    92 mitsubishi 3000gt

    0-60=6.9 sec
    1/4 mile=15.8

    97mitsubishi 3000gt VR4

    0-60=4.8
    1/4 mile=13.6

    92 mitsubishi 3000gt VR4

    0-60=6 sec
    1/4 mile=14.4

    94 mitsubishi 3000gt VR4

    0-60=5.7
    1/4 mile=14.2

These are stock times and can vary under different conditions. Just ball park figures offered from Car stats.

97VR 4 is fast though and with minor upgrades can spank sti's. From a roll they will kill.. from a stop.... who knows.. 0-60 in 4.8 is somewhat faster than an STI
