hey will what's up i know you beat me alittle that night we ran.. to tell you frankly when i raced you i was 2psi lower cause my utec was acting up.. my cel was flickering (detonating) so i lowered my boost alittle to be safe.. the following week i went back to turbotrix and junior retuned my utec for free and my car felt alittle stronger compared that night we ran.. a week or 2 later i went to an sqc meet in huntington and i saw that black evo.. we ran and i beat him but his car was pretty quick too.. now on my new set up with a cut out exhaust QTP and alittle more tuning junior was able to get 347whp/375wtq but it was detonating so he lowered the boost then we got a 337whp/363wtq thats with a fouled plugs and a hot day.. i wanted to get a race map but i'm selling my turbo end of this year.. i'm getting an fp green with external wg and a new clutch.. my traget is 400whp on pump gas i'll see u around on dpa buddy

400WHP on pump gas? Get a FP Green or some sort of 50 Trim, you'll love it.



Hey, is the 347WHP with a stock turbo? If so do have a FMIC? If not look into one just to get rid of the top mount, I never liked them, why put an aluminum cooling piece DIRECTLY over an engine? I know its great for throttle response, but as long as you get good hard piping its just as good if not better with tuning.


FMIC would cure MANY Detonation issues, larger more efficient core and survface area. Do you have stock injectors? Or do you have aftermarket?

yeah thats what i'm getting fp green and a custom external wastegate by turbotrix .. they dynoed an sti at turbotrix same turbo and external wg im getting it pushed 400whp on pump around 23-24psi i think.. they posted it in NASIOC

Man if you are still getting detonation i suggest removing the Knock sensor




Its tough to tune with a aluminum block, it transmits the noise and you may be getting phantom knock.

i dont have any detonation right now my utec was retuned.. i only got detonation when i ran 13secwrx so i lowered my boost to stay safe.. before i ran him i was racing someone and i saw my cel flicking (detonation) so i lowered my boost by 2psi.. then on my way home i saw 13secwrx and we ran first run he did pulled on me around 1 car.. 2nd run we did a 40mph roll till 120mph he did won by at least 1/4 - 1/2 car i think.. well i will accept the lost but i surely want a re-match now especially from a dead stop would be nice

I use a Methanol Injection Kit to keep the temp at high boost under control.
It works well!

sorry this is kinda OT but i raced an srt-4 tonight. And since everyone likes talkin crap on srt4s. He said he was stock and i beat him pretty bad from a dig once i got my launch down and i beat him by about 1 car or so from a 20mph roll. FWIW

Havent gotten to race an evo yet but im lookin....hopefully he's stock-slightly modded. Saw some put 400whp+ down on the dyno today.

Saw an Evo getting dyno tuned at Central FL Turbo put down 285whp/292wtq with a TB, Test pipe and a SAFC II and a MBC on a mustang dyno They will be putting cams soon

ive raced a few evos on and off the track. ive only lost 2x. im sure there are a couple more locally that could have taken me..just never ran into them at the track or on the roads

Saw an STi get murdered by my friends Evo this past wed night. They raced twice and both times the Sti was humiliated. It was a silver Sti from Miami and they also brought a white Evo that beat my friends Evo the first run then my friend beat him the second run.Dont know what was wrong with the Sti. Either the car isnt tuned properly or the guy cant drive for ****.Both cars came from a shop owned by the owners of both cars.My friends Evo is pretty quick(12.01@116mph-STOCK turbo)!!

Basically an Evo will make as much power as you want, the only limitations are the turbo size and cam profiles, the stock bottom end is good till about 550WHP, after it is built sky is the limit along with tuning and detonation. The Iron block can take what ever you throw at it, the Head flows enough to make 10 Second passes with ease, you DO need rod bolts though for cheap insurance.


The 25G makes BIG power but it is LAGGY, VERY LAGGY and an oldschool design, which means it is reliable .
