I heard this too. My dad has a z51 vette and said for a big car the camaro handles good. He hates ford so he will prolly never drive the new stang. Honestly though i dont have a clue which one i would want if i was lookin at new muscle. They all have nice features i guess, and potential to be awesome. Comes down to personally preference IMO.

I owned a 94 cobra, 96 Mystic cobra and a 2003 cobra.
A 94/95 is weak compared to todays cars, 240hp.
The 96 was fun. it redlined at 6800. High for a V8. 305hp stock, in order to make them run fast, need a high gear in the rear and beat the pi$$ out of it. My 96 had catless X pipe, 4:30 gears COI and drag radials. Car never went faster than 12.9@104.
Sold it, bought a 03 Cobra when they first were released in 02. That car was a BEAST. with only a magnaflow catback, made 399.4 RWHP on the dyno. With a 2.5 60ft time I went 12.8@115(stock tires/easy launch).
I no longer mess around at the drag strip. My hobby now is cycling/triathlons. So I have no real time to play around with my car. I hated the fact that the mustangs sat because I needed a 2nd car to drive in bad weather. Which led me to the WRX. As bad ass as the 03+ cobras are, what good was it when I was driving a 95 Ranger 4x4 all the time. I now have a car that can get me through bad weather and still fast/fun to drive!!!
One day I'll have a truly awesome sig

Yes... you need engine management for engine modifications

For me it comes down to "is it fun to drive?" I rented a Camaro during a business trip to Cali; neat car in many ways, and seemed to have good road holding...but it just felt heavy to me. My WRX, which is no handling superstar, seems more nimble.

I'm actually kind of excited to see the 11 mustang.

Ford seems to be stepping up their game pretty well. .
Now if they could make it lose 300lbs.
I rented one when I went back for my HS reunion. It was relatively comfortable, but for all the supposed power, it felt heavy and numb and it was definately not very fast. It got a lot of attention though... that bright yellow had kids calling it "Bumblebee" the whole time...

That's why you go find a 2002 Trans Am WS6 and mod it like crazy and see how it handles and how much power it'll put down.![]()
Wonder what it'll do once forced induction is added. I'd say it's probably the best new car in years. I *might* be persuaded to own a Mustang -- something I never thought I'd say before.
