Today on my way to work I lined up against an 03 Cobra. I knew it wouldn't be fair going from a dig so I decided to wait and let him make the move leaving the line.
So as we leave the line in frirst gear 10mph or so he nails it
(oh shxt- thats a mistake) and jumped about a 1/2 car in front of me. All I could hear was his engine screaming and I reacted.
I ran first gear to redline and he was still about 1/2 car in front of me. I slammed 2nd gear and slowly start to reel him in? I slam third gear and I'm now about a 1/2 car in front of him and slowly walking away from him. I get about 1 car in front of him and he lets off and gives up.
First I was really happy and then I started to think to myself this was way too easy. Then I came to the conclusion, he must have been braking his tires loose. It was 7:30am and the roads were dry but not totally dry. You know the way roads can be early in the morning.
So I waited for him at the next light and asked him if he had traction issues. He said yes. I told him I thought so. He said his Cobra was stock. He seemed like a really cool guy.
This race shows why I bought an STi. I'm ready to race anywhere at anytime. Not just under perfect conditions. So give this race to the STi.
