There is a guy that lives around my way that is essentially a stage 2-3 car. He runs high 12s at the track with a full interior and on pump gas! They dyno'd his car at over 375rwhp (5speed MT).

Just saw an Auto trans-equipped '01 IS300 with an intercooled Area 51 supercharger kit running 15.20's here in Honolulu. I would guesstimate that at 14.70's anywhere else...

My bone stock IS300 could only muster a 15.90 here once and 16.0's (15.40-15.50's on the mainland) the rest of the time...

    5m's must be way quicker!

Note: Area 51 IS300 does have 19" bling-bling wheels... That probably affects his performance as well.

Does the Stage 2-3 kit IS300 in your area run a turbo or blower?

The IS in my area is equiped w/ a T3/T4.

Also worth mentioning is that 5speed MT's put down anywhere between the upper 180's (low side) all the way to mid 190's.

The AT equiped IS's put down anywhere between mid 160's to 170.

When I test drove the AT IS, I quickly thought that I would purchase the Type S. Later that week a 5speed came in and it totally changed the car.

The few people I know w/ 5speeds muster anywhere between low 15's to upper 14's in the 1320. The guy that now runs 12's, baselined his car at 14.8 last summer.

Wow... 14.80's stock? AWESOME! T3/t4 hybrid? Just plain nuts!

I say go for it! I was afraid to throw any mods on my Lexus - because I mean... Well, it was a Lexus. :-) (and I couldn't afford to fix it if it broke! :-) but if you've got the means... That would be amazing!

    Keep us posted...

    Aloha,
    Richard...

P.S. I think one of the most awesome "cruise missiles" I've ever seen was that SC300TT whose banzai-highway-run-videos are circulating around the internet. That car was 2jz-6speed-big turbo equipped and reeled in everything in sight! *wow*

5 speeds are pretty quick stock, however I test drove one and compaired performance wise to the WRX and GTI 1.8 Turbo I was not impressed. Nice interior and a smooth ride but overpriced by about $5000 in my opinion.
