Nothing to brag about, just thought its a funny story

Tonight i was on my way home from the local cruise strip, had to bring my gf home, so i got off my exit because they have relocated "Long Warf" street racing 2 minutes down the street from my house, and i wanted to see what cars were down there. so i drive by and i come to the first light after the mcd they all hang out at, and im talking to my girlfriend and out of no where i hear (obvious it was a honda/acura) a loud exhaust reving like mad. we both look over and this kid is staring at me and is reving it like no tomorrow, i could see the shift light flashing on and off on his 12 foot tach. he was staring at me with a stone cold look, he was just dead serious. and both me and my gf started laughing directly at him, but still he had such a serious look on his face, and he kept reving the car. so i inch ahead of him so he will stop.

the light turns green we both proceed (at the time we both had a car in front of us in each of our lanes). so the car in front of him turns into taco bell and the car in front of me goes into the turning lane (ill tell u why in a second). so we both pull up to the red light, and this kid looks over again at us ( his buddy i nthe passenger seat put his hat over his face and put his seat all the way back) starts reving like a mofo. and im sittin there like wtf is wrong with this kid. then the suv that was in front of me (which was packed with ppl) rolls down their windows and theyre like "BURN IT UP, GO GO GO"

so after thinking as clearly as possible in my head while thel ight was red i thought ya know why the hell not, ill do it for fun & for the fact that the kid doesnt go tell all his friends he killed an sti (sti because i have the wing, and he probably doesnt know the difference). so i thought back to my endless hours of reading on clubwrx.net (by the way i was even wearing the t-shirt) i rememberd to slip and not drop the clutch, so i reved it up to about 5500 rpms kept it there until the green light slipped it and WOOSSSSSSSH. car just freakin ripped off the line, i had no tire spin what soever, the tires didnt make a noise. the other cars tires spun and made alot of noise and just kept getting smaller in my rearview and it was a totally wash job after a good 200-300 feet.

ive never launched my car in the year ive had it, ive been in a couple races from rolls before, but never from a stop. so im not bragging about winning, im just full of adrenaline cuz ive never done it before in this car, and i just cant believe how awesome my launch was. i did have a little clutch smell, but it went away after 2 minutes driving down the road.

i wish u guys could see the look on this kids face, me and my girlfriend talked about it for a good 10 minutes afterwards, he looked like he was ready for the daytona 500, it was just nuts.

A perfect launch is a sweet thing. If you are at all leaning forward, you won't be for long. It's like being catapulted. lol

no tire spin after a hard launch is not good. I suggest you not do that too often

Funny kill. I smelt the clutch after my first launch as well. I guess I need more practice.

Nice kill Dude. Which honduh was it? the white one w/ the black hood (that thinks he is king chit)? or one of the hatches. I have only been there once, the one time I saw you there (this is L.J./ Blue STi, saw you in taco bell), but I remeber some of the cars, mostly hondas there though.

I think I might be stopping by there with a few of the tunernetwork guys on saturday after the show in manchester, but I dont know for sure.
