I'm driving down Fulton Industrial Blvd this morning and I notice a blue 97-03 C5 Corvette 3+ cars behind me. I'm in the right lane however the road opened up into 3 lanes; as soon as the road opened the up the Corvette changes into the right lane. Lucky for me the light turned red at the next intersection so I stop. He pulls next to me and I look over at him and we both smile. I roll down my passenger window and asked him if he wanted to run. He asked if mine was a STI and I reply no, but have a Stage 2.5 which is basically bolt ons. He agreed to run so we both started to rev to setup for the light.
Light turns green and we both launch off the line. Mine wasn't as powerful as normal but it did the job. We're next to each other thru 1st, I pulled maybe 2ft+ through 2nd because he spun tire, and as soon as I hit 3rd I left off as his lane cuts off and he's still next to me. He pulls away hard and cuts over two lanes. I flashed him to slow down so I could get next to him. He shouts how he spun tire and I concurred w/ him. I already missed my turn because of the run so I made a U turn to go back.
I'm very pleased w/ the run as the 97-03 C5 have stock 345-350hp. The C5 sounded "louder" than normal but I'm guessing he's still stock as I don't run many Corvettes in general. I wish I got a better launch but it was fun. I held my gound from 0-60 which is all I ask for.
