a stock 540 is more than a formidable opponent for a WRX. those 540's are fast. now an RSX-type S, that's a whole different animal. those things would destroy a 540 and a WRX. I think they are 5 wheel drive or something.

    madmmt,
To my surprise my car does quite well against the competition. We haven't raced but im pretty sure i could take the eclipse. From a dead start i am lose to the RX-7, but my front bumper to his rear - sometimes less. When we are both going 40 or so and i put it in 2nd (i assume he does the same) we are exactly even. Steve actually said i pulled on him once, but i don't know. But i must add that 1 of his turbos is only going at 5-7psi or something. Against guy's 454 '67 camaro, i tied . . . until i shift into third, then i destoyed him (i got witnesses). So naturally he has been *****ing about how i have m-suspension and m rims and all this m **** in my car and he claims his car wasn't running right, yeah "ok." the krazy wrx, vettes and ws-7 would take me. (about 3 car lengths i'd imagine). haven't raced the camaro (ls1) because he doesn't wanna take it over 4000rpm until the engine is broken in. so that's about it.

You one lucky guy, IIRC the acceleration doesn't wean off much after 60-80 on the 540. The 60's muscle cars were nice, but top end wise, your aerodynamics and top end power should take them if you raced them to 150 of so. But they can be quick in the 1/4 mile.
