I was humbled on the highway when I was running TXS stg2 by a newer Lightning. He pulled on me pretty good and I thought they were pretty untouchable in a WRX from a roll.

Then upgrading to Stage IV , some other add ons, and RA gears, I ran into one again. I had no problem pulling on him over and over from any speed. That was a good feeling.

Actually, I do have a few comments. Everyone is talking about it's unfair comparing a modded WRX with a stock G35. Let me break this down a little. G35 (I hope you got the coupe) cost roughly $35k for 280hp (equivalent to $125/hp) whereas the WRX cost $21.5k (the price I got mine) for 227hp (equivalent to $94/hp). They are not even in the same price range! There is no reason to compare a stock WRX with a stock G35/350Z. I bought WRX because of its value. As many of you have already realized, few cars out there (SRT-4 for one) can beat the price/hp ratio. If G35 owners want to puss out and say that IF their cars were modded, they would be on even ground with WRX. Wishful thinkings. A well modded G35 cost almost as much as a C5/LS1. Think about that.

95% of people posting on this thread missed point completely...

unfortunate. even with your logical explanations or why your posts said what.

    anyways ...

but yeah, 13. its real nice to have a car youre stoked on and blow by those you never thought possible when you were driving an escort or something....regardless of what they are and cost...modded or not. makes no difference.

    enjoy that car of yours.

Turbo cars are easier to mod. If I did buy a g35, I sure as hell wouldnt race it. It simply wasnt designed for that. It's a luxury car with a bit of speed. g35 is a pretty nice car. I would hardly call it fast though

WRX people crack me up when they compare their cars to Audis and BMWs and think they have the "better" car because they can go 0-60 faster for less money. The WRX is a great car for what it is, don't go comparing it to cars it will never be, like the g35.

im not comparing the wrx to anything, except the fact that the wrx is cheaper than the G35 - get it? Obviously the g35, bmw 3series and audi a4 are all ment for differnt things. Some luxury some sport. But... since the general topic was comparing speed, thats what i was doing.

I hear this point all the time. If we were trying to compare the fit and finish of the two cars then yes I see your point. But we are not. THis isnt the exterior/interior section of this website, this is the wrx vs world (performance) section of this webiste. Im not barking back I'm just saying that some of my friends all of the time say your car will never be this or that, and I'm ok w/that but not when I'm comparing the performance of my car. As far as that goes there are not many stock cars that can beat me. I'm comparing my car vs stock cars that in my maxima and accord I used to envy for there speed and now I'm reflecting back on how fast I used to think they were and how they relate to what I have now...It was just mind blowing, becuase I sometimes forget how quick my car really is. It sometimes seems slow to me because I get used to it...thats all.

^ I know what you mean, I used to feel the same way about the Acura gsr. A buddy of mine ran a 15.2 in the quarter mile and i thought that was fast at the time (it still is a respectable time). I think it is a sign of times changing when you were younger eveything always seemed bigger and faster. Also cars are starting to get more powerful so the cars you used to think were fast aren't as fast as some of the newer cars that we drive.

yup... now getting back on topic.. I look at my old GSR that ran high 14's and low 15's back in the days and think... wow!! That is f'ing slow. The stock rex is faster. Then mods added to the rex... " oh wow, what the hell. this is fast!!" . Now the STI.. "wow, what the hell, this is faster!!" .

    Did I make sense here

So the implication is that this should be a WRX vs. WRX forum: it's ridiculous to compare our cars with different cars.

Personally, I'm glad we have a WRX vs the World forum where we're SUPPOSED to compare the performance of our cars with different cars. Whenever something with bang-for-the-buck value can challenge impressive machinery, it's fun and a good read.

I'm willing to bet that most of us admire many types of cars and respect fair doses of act right.

In terms of pimply faced teenagers who rev at every red light, that's just stereotypical nonsense added to flaccid, pompous rhetoric.

i just dont understand how someone started this thread to express how they feel, and it seems like everone has something to chime in about it, we should all just be nice about it. Were all driving the same car, no need to not be on the same side. Its fine to have differnt views, just express them in a way that doesnt come off to be the wrong way?

    (really tired)

This thread has totally gone off topic

Anyways, who's Puss'n out?? Stock for stock, a wrx vs. g35 is a drivers race. Yes, the wrx is capable of better 1/4 mile times because of the AWD advantage. Now if the wrx driver messes up the launch, then the G35c will win. The wrx dyno's at about 170-175whp. The G35 coupe dyno's about 230-235whp. Weight difference is a less than 300lbs, maybe 250lbs. Now i know i shouldn't be feedin' the troll but i just had to respond.
