SRT-4 race??

I have an SRT-4 that wants to race. We were talking about trap speeds etc, and I was telling him that my car "should" be capable of a 107 trap speed etc. The reason I think that is my trap is because I edge out Mach 1's and E46 M3's which trap about 106.

Anyways, he told me his power figures and his trap speed.

WHP: 286
WTQ: 336
Trap Speed: 105-106

His power alone tells me he is capable of a higher trap speed, but because he get's a good launch his trap is lower.

I did some searching on other forums, and found him posting his 1/4 info.

That right there tells me he isn't trapping as high as he is capable of. I expect with a crappy launch he could trap around 109-110 if not more.

So far I've beaten a Mach 1, E46 M3, STI with catback and intake, STI with TBE and headers. Each of which should be trapping in the 105-106 area. The M3 is a friend of mine and he consistently runs 106's.

What are your thoughts? Am I right in my assumption that he is going to beat me, and is hiding the facts about his trap speed?

theres too much technical crap involved. and any type of condition can affect this, not to mention that if he is an 04' with LSD he is capable of getting a better 60ft which would mean a lower trap speed...

just go out and get it done. then report back to base after the mission has been completed

Yeah, were gonna do a roll on race. He has an 04 with the LSD. Fun either way.

SRTs are definitely quick when modded and from a roll is where they shine. I would guess it would be a close race and it will probably depend on the range of speed you guys select to race at. From what I have noticed (granted my car is different than yours), they shine from 40-90 and they start to lose steam at 100 and above.
I'm basing my claims off of a friend's SRT w/ a mopar st 2 that raced me, a wrx w/ 20g, and a evo w/ tb. All of these cars would star to over-take the srt at that 90mph range. I would start to pull a little earlier

Actually I thought that the higher the speed the more the advantage swings toward the SRT.

it could just be that he is getting dynoed on a very "generous" dyno...As we all know, the track is where all of the BS stops, and if he is trapping at 'only' 106mph, he obviously is not making the power he claims... Or he sandbags it on the track....

Thats what I thought at first also. But when you look at SRT-4's you will notice that a great ET = a crap trap speed, and a crap ET = a great trap speed. his run at 106 was with a great ET, so I think with a crap run he is capable of a few mph higher.

This time was done at the track . The street is a different story.

If your racing top end - then I can't really say who will win. But if you know how to launch your car, you should smoke him big time.

If a rwd or fwd vehicle that runs low to mid 13s at the track wanted to race me, I would say lets go and smoke him big time.

If those #'s are accurate then his tq is gonna be the killer...Thats alot of tq...That car is also lighter then yours....Good luck. Post results.

Dude, you should trap a hell of alot higher than you expect.

I trapped at 106 and I am only a stage 4 and that was on a untuned car.

With your setup, you should be pulling much higher numbers than I did.

And his reaction times, 60' times are horrific, beat those and your done
