Today my brother and I had to return some movie my parents had rented, so I decided to take the long loop there. On the way, I spotted a blue WRX wagon (2002-2003). Got next to him at a light, waved at him. When the light changed, he got on it some, then slowed down and waited. At a fairly low speed, I got next to him in 3rd gear, then gave him the jump.
Apparently, that wasn't a good idea. He's done enough to his car that being in really low RPM and giving the jump let him get about a 1/4 car ahead and I was only able to slowly pull even until about 80 mph. After that, I started opening a gap fairly quickly, and kept running it until I was sure I was completely ahead (maybe 110-120 mph), then slowed down.
We coasted to the next light and talked to the guy on the way. He's really, really nice. I think he said he had a turbo-back and some sort of computer work done too...maybe more but I forgot. He said he's on i-Club, so I'm trying to find him. This goes to show me that I desperately need some sort of computer tuning to take advantage of the mods I have.
All in all, it was fun and the guy was nice. He held really close the whole time. And I made sure to give him a thumb's up afterwards too.

Stock VF39, just with wastegate ported to be safe. What is a stage 4 setup like?

Stage 4 comes in many flavors.
but the basics are:
Full TBE
Turbo + injectors + fp
EM + boost control
Intercooler (TMIC/FMIC)
Intake
pretty much as far as you can take the stock block.
anything past stage 4, you're looking at a tranny swap or bigger block.

Maybe my wastegate got ported too much...or I REALLY need computer management.Anyways though...result wasn't disappointing and he was nice, so all's well. Maybe I can set up local meets. Area now seems to have enough turbo AWD cars to do it, just not all on one set of forums.
Oh, and forum stopped sending update emails so I may be slow responding to any thread I'm involved in.

It's very satisfying to beat STi's with a wagon!

Mods
get EM. you wont regret it.
'04 PSM STi - modded (sr50+the works)
'05 JGM RSX Type-S - stock
I'd hope so. I just wish they'd made an STi wagon...I'd be in one now if they did. But they don't, so I got the sedan and had a good run with a wagon instead.Originally posted by McBain
