They might be hideous to some... but the reason for their existense aparently the because of the new retro craze of box type vehicles( read: honda's box car ).
Personally I agree with you. I see no appeal in them,

Personally, I kinda like the looks of the xB. I wouldn't drive one, but it could be a pimped out little cruiser van. haha.
17 grand... hah, id get an SRT for the 2g extra
I see your reasoning here based on a performance standpoint. But you have to realize that the tC is a totally different car. Consider the differences and overall value over the srt-4;

All for $16,500. I dare you to find a car that comes close. I agree 100% the srt-4 is THE BEST performance/dollar value on the market today, but the first 3 reasons on the list should be enough to justify the price point between the two cars. You could also look at it as the Celica vs SRT-4. Both the same price, both the same features. The Celica is a far better car, but it doesnt hold a candle to the Dodge in terms of performance.
If I was in the market now for a fast performance car to race with, I'd buy the SRT-4. If I wanted a car that was fun to drive, comfortable, sporty, reliable, crammed with standard features, that I could keep for 6 years and 180,000 miles with no problems, I would pic the tC. Apples & oranges.

I agree, SRT4 is the "best bang for buck" but the Dodge quality speaks for itself. It's comparing two totally different things.
2004 STI White/Gold
251whp & 263ft/lbs ( Stock ): 0-60 = 4.8 ( Fastest = 4.1 ) & 1/4 = ?
276whp & 290ft/lbs ( DP ): 0-60 = 4.5 & 1/4 = 12.9 @ 105mph
If we are going to compare this car at the same price, it would have to be compared to the Neon SXT (still a 4 door). At that point which one would you choose.

Excellent point, driverj.

You better believe us Celica owners aren't too happy about it, either. But the Celi will always handle better and look better. So... there.![]()

LOL...maybe, maybe not. As of what I heard, the tC was suppose to be the replacement in other market for the Celica. Don't know if it's true or rumor tho.Originally posted by Aracheon

Nothing but good ol' replicas...on my good ol' poser c240
The Celica certainly isn't as popular as when it first came out, especially now with the NASTY front and rear ends on the new ones. The tC is just a MUCH better value than a Celica overall... and because of that, the Celica will eventually be dropped. Toyota's been selling that car since the 70s, and it's in it's 7th generation. I don't see it lasting much longer, especially now when a new Celica is more pricey than an SRT-4.
