So coming home I got to test my new setup for the 1st time. I pull up to this brand new convt. e46. I am at about 60mph and usually I would slow down and drop it in 2nd but w/this new setup there is no need for that. I leave it in 3rd and he goes before I do. Oh sh$% so now I go and by the end of 3rd I have caught him and I proceed to walk him in 4th to the tune of 3-4 cars. His face was priceless. It would have gotten uglier I feel if I kept on it. I havent ripped into 5th yet but 3rd and 4th are freakin awesome. Its gonna be a fun summer...as long as nothing breaks..![]()

Good kill. You're making about the same power I was making with my old WRX with the 18g. Be careful, even from a roll you will have enough power to shred third gear on 25psi.

It seems like this might be partly due to the hard-hitting nature of the G-turbos... Looking at dyno charts, it is not uncommon to see 50-100whp jumps in power when the turbo hits, all withn less than 1000 rpms... It seems that the hard-hitting nature of these turbos is what so many love about them.I guess if the car is tuned to have the turbo come in smoothly and gradually, the tranny should be able to survive the power.Originally posted by silverscooby

I agree. My 18g hit like a ton of bricks on 25psi. While you can adjust the spool somewhat with tuning it's hard to get rid of that. Besides... it's fun.Originally posted by jigga
