could of been stock but running higher octane.
dont see it happening w/ crappy cali 91 tho.
This is a discussion on evo stock doing 12.6 on the track within the Comparison: WRX vs World forums, part of the Community - Meet other Enthusiasts category; both of the evo and sti was running vishnu stage set ups. the evo was running the stage 1 or ...

Oh no I think i'm blindNabisco.. arrrrgggh.. Nah, those are great figures . Small mods but the tuning did the cars some mercy. 300 on the evo and 290 on the Sti. Wow!!!
oh im sorry for the wrong information but i miss red the other forum about an STI hitting 12.4 stock...
but for the EVO my friends told me that they saw it run 12.6 stock
and for sure my friends wasnt wrong beacuse they know alot about racing they are in a team and 6 of thier cars can hit high 10's
the track was at Sacramento raceway.. that took place on may 22
hehe, I was in a team when I was 16. Miss the old ricer days.
how can your friends tell if the car is running some sort of ecu management?? think about it....just cause somebody says car is stock doesnt mean it is...i dont care how much your friends know about cars...unless they are dsm experts or somethingOriginally posted by DownSTi

I posted this over at Evolutionm.net - EVO website- in the drag race forum to see what EVO guys think about this.
I'm pretty sure that something more has to be going on. Most stock EVO's don't come anywhere close to 12.6.
I would bet that
1. Reflashed computer - more boost than stock- which would be impossible to know about.
2. Faulty track equipment
3. Freak weather conditions -very strong tail wind, etc.
4. Overboosting from factory - which there have been a few -but still very unlikely to run 12.6
So far the guys over at Evolutionm.net are in agreement with us that something isn't right. Most are already raising the BS flag and that coming from an EVO website. They did mentioned the reflash - some EVO owners may consider that as still being stock.
They also mentioned defective boost solenoids causing increased boost levels on some cars. But they mentioned it would still take great driving along with a defective solenoid to possibly run that fast.
hehe well i ask my friends agian about that.
they said the guy claimed it was stock and opened his hood to prove it. and the guy also sed he jus got his car about a month ago (he didnt even have a plate number on).
other people also asked the evo dude if he had a boost control and agian the evo guyz showed his interior and no sign of boost control. and my friend asked he had changes his ecu. and again the evo dude claimed his **** is stock..
so i dont know..
i myself dont believe that an EVO stock can hit 12.6
note the track has nothing to do with it trust me its a good track
alot of thinks its a good track to run and they have good timing..
sacramento raceway
ok im gonna say ECU reflash... cause im telling you no EVO's pulling that time stock... probably even a well hidden MBC.... ima call BS on this one too..... and you see what i drive.

i go to sac raceway and if it's the evo that i might be thinking about, it's not stock. i don't believe there are any stock evo's running at that track

It's not a matter of believing if it's stock or not. It's a matter of obeying the physics that rule reality. Stock Evo doing a 12.6? Physics say that doesn't sit well.
