With that much power, you would think the gears would just shear off, even from WOT on a roll.

Simply amazing. And I had thought dipping into the 12s would be good...

If you have enough wheel hop off the line I would imagine it would last better then a 12 sec car that just sticks. Very impressive though....Almost makes me want to attempt a run w/mine....too chicken though.![]()

Keep in mind that torque kills trannies, not power. I'll bet he's reving to 9000 or even higher on that built motor, and that the turbo doesn't come on boost until after 5000 rpm's. As long as he doesn't have huge torque peak that he uses all the time, it is totally feasable that he does this on the stock tranny. Figure that if he doesn't launch too hard and then shifts at 9000 rpm, the revs fall back to about 6500 rpms, where there may be solid power, but not insane torque levels.

Damn, I'm impressed.

That's a very good point. i believe he's rocking the jun 272 cams, so his power band is way up in the rpms. Nevertheless, hp or tq, any more passes on the stock trans should be the end of itOriginally posted by Red Rocket
