    C5 vs. WRX... not pretty

Well I was driving home and saw a black C5 turn and spin his tires and I thought oh what the hell might as well give it a shot. So I turn in pursuit and we hit a light. Light turns green and I get of to a somewhat fast start didnt launch the car but let first gear kinda wind out and thats all it took, the next thing I know I hear tires spin and a motor scream.. and blow past me..

long story short I picked the wrong c5 to play with, damn thing was charged. That damn thing was fast and sounded so nice.. at first I thought he must be spraying because of the way the motor sounded.

The owner gave my car props probably just wanted to make me feel better. Cool guy says the blower took over a year to make by some company he told me but I could hardly hear him over his motor, the specs and picture of his car are on some web site im going to try to research it and see if I can find it.

I ran a C5 once. Wasn't pretty either. I think I will take that advice and go looking for a Z06 and see how I stack up.

I would have done a hell of a lot better against a stock z06. I have seen z06's run about what my car is capapble of in the 1/4 so I know im not too far off, but this c5 was probably a mid to low 11 sec car at 5800ft. My brother has a blown cobra that runs 11.70's and this was equally if not faster than it.

Be careful about those guys too, I ran a H/C/I ZO6 at the track one time and he was running low 11s on slicks. That's the first car I've raced that kept up with me out of the hole.

Not with a Stage 2 from Cobb. A stock C5 will hand him his ass.

Vettes with the right setup can definitely haul a$$.

Here's a vid of a naturally aspirated H/C C5 pumping out 495rwhp without nitrous. That car is running mid 10s at 130mph. Just imagine what a properly tuned blown C5 can do

A stock c5 from a roll will eat that setup. But from a dig, you'll stay ahead up to like ....90 maybe...then he will pull and continue to romp.

I was under the impression that the C5 was the body style of the latest gen vettes, and that the Z06 was the 406hp engine available for that body style....

What I'm hearing in this thread is the equivalent of "got killed by a WRX....go try a 2.0L turbo."

    so I'm confused...somebody explain please
