WRX Wagon vs. Audi A4 1.8T

was on my way home from dinner last night with the wife and the A4 pulls up next to me at a stop light. i wasn't thinking about running, because it looked stock and he wasn't revving. so the light turns green, he gets his tires spinning, WOT and about a car length ahead. so i'm like OK, i go WOT and by the end of 2nd he's back 2-3 cars back. after that i let off the gas and he kind stayed back with the other cars. i knew that it wouldn't be much of a race, but it was still fun

BTW, my only mods are a Bosal DP and cat-back, until my Cobb get's here

They aren't the fastest cars out of the box, but they are VERY nicely fifnshed cars, I must say.

A friend of mine and I went to testdrive the 2004 A4 3.0 V6 quattro model. Moves very well, and VERY nicely finished inside also. I thought it was A LOT better finished than the C-class and the BMW 3 series to be honest, chich had interiors more in line with the STi to be honest. Cheaper too than the others also... Kinda makes you wonder what exactly BMW and Benz are charging you for

Yep. Those cars are so good looking. I was driving a friends chipped 1.8T. Even that I dont think is in par with stock WRX. But holycrap, the interior had a world of difference.

very nice cars over all, but stock they are horribly slow. just watch out for the mildly modded ones. i little goes a long way with these cars

yep, i was hoping that i had a mod or 2 in it...

As mentioned, 1.8T's - in fact most Audis, are finished beautifully. However this doesnt make them fast. I destroyed a kid in a 1.8T recently who didnt know that luxury and an import pricetag doesnt equal speed.

No good for driving super fast - but nice for a trip to the opera.

def. has great interior and all... but like i said, they are not quick at all when stock... but a few minor things like chip, BC, intake, exhaust can get them WELL into the 13's
there are many with just intake and chip that are running low-mid 14's

I had a 2001.5 VW Passat before the 328i, and they are essentially an Audi A4 (A5). Very nice cars with a great interior. I miss the red/purple glow of the instrument panel. The Passat had horrible traction after it was broken in. The car seemed to really open after 5000 miles of abuse.
