    Actually it's not a stupid question, just a stupid thread since the answers look the same as the other 3,000 times it's been asked

    FWIW, the only one I've seen written is experimental, other than threads where people speculate on experience, extreme and cross.

    I tell people, when they ask, World Rally Cross. Its just liek Auto-x is short for Autocross.

    Rally Cross? That's like an auto cross on dirt from what I understand from the SCCA. It's just a bunch of cones set up on a flat slab of dirt. It's not even a major sport, like rally racing. Why would Subaru try to connect the WRX to this obscure form of motorsport? I'm certain it's experimental from what I've read.

    You can't always believe what you read. It's World Rally Experimental. This is because it was the experimental street version required by the rules that Subaru make. World Rally Experience? That just sounds stupid.
