hi im new to the board but wanted to share this

i have a 2002 Acura Rsx-s

with Cold air intake, cat back exhaust and i raced a RS impreza with stage 2 things , catback and random other things


i SMOKED it


what you guys think of the RS? dont knwo much about Subarus that arent the WRX or STis

Sounds fine to me. The 2.5RS isn't fast at all. I'd expect even a poorly driven RSX-S with bolt-ons to at least stay even with it.

RS is a very nice car for the money, IMO.

dont worry about it. some people just get kinda defensive.

the a 99' Rs in 5speed is only good for high 15's usually. with basic upgrades like exhaust, intake, and stuff you can see low 15's on a good day.
an rsx-s with your mods and a good driver will run mid to high 14's all day long.. hence why you smoked him.
i think the 98' was a bit faster though. different ecu or something. my buddy has one and ran a 15.4 stock, and a 14.9 with I/h/e

well the RS is listed as 165hp I believe, and your RSX-s is 200. With his mods, he probably is 200 (if that) at the crank, and you have a few mods.

Did you race from a stop? The AWD launch would've pulled on you in the beginning, and you would've had to overtake. Unless he was a crappy driver.

tnx guys uve helped me a ton but i must confess i didnt really race an rs this was just a test

we have an rs fanboy that frequents the www.clubrsx.com boards quite a bit and he went on there running his mouth about how with that stage 2 kit he would run even with an RSX - S with CAI and Exhaust and even claimed to have beaten RSX-S stock


most of us including you guys realize that a stock RSX-S is good for high 14s with a decent driver and that stage 2 for an RS would not put it in the same range , it would run around mid 15s or low 15s with a really good driver.

What do you mean a fanboy over there. There are many many many fanboys on that site and 99.9% of them are rsx fanboys. On club rsx there are even guys trying to tell you how fwd is far superior to rwd and awd.

All they talk about is how nice the interior is compared to the wrx. Or how ugly the wrx is compared to the rsx.

Just remeber that; but if I added a turbo to my rsx.... Or if I took the turbo off of the wrx, my rsx would smoke your stock wrx.

My point is that maybe if you were to straighten out a few of your own rsx fanboys then you would have fewer flame wars over there.
