    Evil twin causes hub-bub
    An Internet ad for the Ford Sportka, a hatchback sold in Europe, is the subject of considerable controversy. The 39-second commercial that Ford Motor Co. said was never meant to be released is making the e-mail rounds and rubbing animal lovers the wrong way. It depicts a tabby cat climbing onto the top of the car and poking its head into the open moonroof, and the moonroof slides closed as the cat struggles and then drops to the ground. Ford's ad agency Ogilvy & Mather conceived the ad as part of a "viral marketing" campaign for the Sportka vehicle. Companies can get widespread exposure for little money through viral marketing. Ads are posted online, and if Web users find them funny or entertaining, they e-mail them to their friends. (The Detroit News)
