A friend and I finally had a chance to get together to run his 2004 SRT4 which is stock against my Stage 2.5 2002 WRX. We did a few 40-100mph rolls in the 70-80 degrees and each time was basically the same results. We were basically even till 4th gear came and the SRT4 would start to pull slwowy. We shut down each time but I knew it would be over if we continued to play. However once we did a 40mph roll and right around 70mph, there was a longer sweeper turn and I kept WOT and pulled a bus length+ on him because he got off the gas because his rear end was losing traction. I still love AWD because roads are not always straight. It's always fun to run.![]()
2004 STI White/Gold
251whp & 263ft/lbs ( Stock ): 0-60 = 4.8 ( Fastest = 4.1 ) & 1/4 = ?
276whp & 290ft/lbs ( DP ): 0-60 = 4.5 & 1/4 = 12.9 @ 105mph
man those things are beasts.

Have you ever tried runnng Turboxs's high performance boost controller. I picked up .2-.3 tenth in the 1/4 mile by switching to it over the abc boost controller. This was on my Stage 2 WRX. I was running 13.3s @ 100 mph with the high performance boost controller. I only ran 13.5s - 13.7s @ 97 mph with the abc controller.
Their is a noticeable difference in performance.
I was trying to use the ABC instead of a MBC so I can use the UTEC to it's full logging potential. The HPBC is still a MBC thus bypassing the UTEC signals. I'm now adusting the boost gain value ... I have it now at 47 instead of 50. I'm hoping the "quicker" spool up will help. It's still definitely a learning experience.

I think I'm going to try that.Originally posted by SGOSWRX

thats pretty interesting chu. Are you sure your car is faster since you went with the UTEC? Because when i raced my friends 04 SRT-4, he could never pull me at all when we were alone in our cars. My mbc was set at like 16.5 psi, it was a boostvalve.com one. I would expect you to pull on him with a UTEC, because i always thought a UTEC would make my car even faster, maybe your friends SRT-4 is just faster than my roomates, who knows.

I know I have more whp and ft/lbs w/ the UTEC as I was dynoing at 213whp w/out the UTEC and dynoed 220whp w/ the UTEC not tunned. Since I've tuned the A/F to 11:1 now so I know I should have even more whp/ft/lbs ... I'm expecting 225-230whp. I know the SRT4s are pulling 230wp+ easily from the factory.

I beat an srt-4 pretty easily with my stage 2 set-up
the 2003 srt-4 is 218hp and 230tq i think. the 2004 are 230hp and 250 tq. so maybe u beat the 2003 one. the 2004 ones are beasts from what i heard.
it all depends on the dyno and the conditions that day. Your car can be unchanged but dyno different numbers on different days.

Last night I saw a 2003 srt-4 run a 13.2 at 104mph in the 1/4 and all he had was a manual boost control. I asked how he was able to keep the power down without having the lsd and he custom biult motor mounts that lowered the engine. He said it the motor mounts changed the car dramtically. There was a 2004 srt-4 running about the same times but with a aftermarket downpipe and boost control. I was really impressed with the car(first time I have seen it run at the track). There was an evo running in the 12s who did a 1.5 60ft time. -scott

Stock(ish) ls1s are trapping 105+ even autos...That's a bit hard to "reel in"
