    STI vs WRX (both Stock)

My friend just upgraded his WRX to Sti. He took the bait when his WRX was being serviced

Got 18 grand for his 02 but paid msrp for the sti. I still think he got a bad deal.... UNTIL I DROVE the car!

Yes, he let me rip up the rubber in his new sti. I must say I forgot what the Sti was about as I was considering a TL or a G35 lately as my next car.

The Sti snapped my neck back as I went WOT on 2nd. It didn't let up in third either as it kicked me back again. I must say that it was very cool to see the rev limiter and that oh so gorgeous gauge that kept reminding me that I was in a STI.

And the low growl.... OHHH man! I heard that as I was revving up at the light. Launched it at 6k and that thing left my brains in the backseat!

We got back into my 4eat wrx and all the excitement was gone. My turbo kicked in and i felt a lumph and nothing more. At least it rides better than the Sti, and I can see out of my rear view mirror.. .and..... help me out here, I'm desperately trying to make myself feel better here

edit: My car is now known as the little lumph and his car is call the big snapper

either mod your car more or buy an STi...

this reminds me of the time I got my first ride in a friends supercharged GT stang. I couldnt go back to my NA one, and eventually got a blower. You'll never be the same.

do what I did. The same thing as your friend. Just traded my 04 after 6 months of ownership. Took in the a$$ but I wanted the STI from the start. Talk about no regrets. Until I just heard about the Mitsu EVo mr. Thats alright. The Sti has a nicer interior.

Will a cobb stg 2 keep up with the Sti? I just looked at the kit and the price is very resonable. Not to mention the Accessport.

If I wanna go with the stealth look (to take him by surprise). What can I or should I gut in the exhaust system but keep the exhaust?

Thats the reason i never just go test drive anything.

Case in point......i had a 01GT Eclipse and it was fast to me cause thats the fastest car i ever driven. Got in the WRX and was like this thing handles and has way more speed. Bought the WRX and my parents just moved to Alaska so they dropped off their 87 corvette for me to sell. Now it wasnt much faster but the turning was phenominal. The WRX felt like a boat afterwards. Im now in the process of redoing the suspension for the WRX.

    TEST DRIVES = BAD NEWS

i know your felling man . I thought my WRX was kinda slow until i drove my friends built integra LS, and even with $4000 of mods, it felt slow compared to my WRX. I was on top of the world....that didnt last long because I drove my friend's STi w/ TurboXS TBE and my car went back to its rightful place in the middle

I just went and test drove an STi last weekend. That thing didn't feel a bit like my WRX. It felt better in every single way. I know there is no way in hell I can afford an STi though, still being in school and all, but I can try to mod the WRX to keep up with one.

    Werd

I just ordered a Godspeed uppipe and a stealthback for the WRX.

Searching for the Accessport at the moment..... Boy he better not mis-shift in that STI when I race him. This stock looking 4eat might just put up a good fight!

Just be glad you don't live in Canada. I paid 35,000 plus taxes for my wrx. The sti comes out to about 52 after taxes. The sti in the States is cheaper than the wrx is in Canada.

    Feel better now
