2002 Porsche Carrera 4

My dentist friend has a 2002 porsche carrera 4, i guess its AWD, and has over 300 hp, i dont remember the exact count. Anyways, im going down the highway and he comes on my left, i didnt even notice him, highway is free. He pulls beside, and he has 2 other friends with, im alone. He says...lets slow down to 40 and then punch it...so im like "ok, but u will slaughter me." So we slow down to 40, im in 2nd gear, i punch it, so does he, i start pulling...we stop at 120mph, i was in 4th gear, he wasnt pulling at all on me, i pulled on him all thru 2nd and 3rd, by 90 i was a good 2+ cars ahead... and 4th we stayed even...he prolly was in 5th?? he has 6 speed. Anyways...I we stoped at 120mph and i was ahead by 2 cars, now this is prolly because i had no passengers and he had 2...but still, i was happy with my subbie. We slowed down again, and all of them were like "damn that thing is quick!!." He is actually the dentist that i shadow, since im planning to go to dentistry school in a couple of years, but ya it was pretty cool to impress my dentist and his 2 friends i was pretty pumped. Im sure if he had no passengers, he would slaughter me...by how much?? i dont know. . I just wish i had my MBC...it would go really nice with my Uppipe and Downpipe...

Is that the turbo one, or the non turbo one? Cause the non-turbo one isn't very quick at all.

lets keep in mind that 'quick' is all relative... i happen to love those cars and think they are really 'quick.' of course, the turbo version is faster, but i think we'd all love a run in or against any type of 911.

i was cruising next to a previous generation 911 Turbo today... wo! i dont have a WRX yet so i wasn't even about to mess with him... and we were in traffic coming home from the beach too. but regardless, what an awesome car... i wasnt paying attention to it for about 30 seconds and next thing i know it was gone... haha quick little thing

Hmm... one piece of literature had a back-to-back comparison of the WRX and the Carrera-4. I think it was maybe in one of the Subaru propoganda articles like 'The Beauty of Great Press' ? Anyway, if wasn't meant to competitively compare them, so much as draw similarities.

The 911 Turbo and the WRX have a surprisingly large amount in common. Both have horizontally opposed engines, all wheel drive, and turbochargers. Of course the Rex makes 200hp less than a turbo, but hey it also costs $100,000 less

My dad has a 2000 911 Carrera Cabriolet, and while my Rex is fast, it's really no contest guys, even against his heavy cabrio, after I get a short jump on the launch it's bye bye Subie. If you are a bit modded (Vishnu 0 or similar) however, it would be a good race up to highway speeds. Of course my Dad's Porsche gains at leat 50 extra hp because it's yellow

When my parents were looking for cars that was one of them. But Conv. My mom like the CLK 430 Instead. I told her for there next car. We need to get a Porshe GT2, that would sweeeeeet!

Hmm.. Not saying it didn't happen, but it just sounds fishy to me.
1) Carrera 4's (NA) have 320 hp
2) AWD (that's what the '4' means)
3) 6 speed close-ratio transmission

Now, I love WRX's and all, but it's no match for a 911, especially on the highway. He was playing with you.

Death Adder...first of all, im not stock. I have an uppipe and Downpipe. It makes a big difference, believe me, i pull away hard from stock WRX's. Also, he had 2 people in his car...thats an extra 330 pounds or so. My car is also about 500 pounds lighter. So believe me when i say this...he was trying...he was close to me, nobody can "play" with you and stay right with you. If they dont press throttle all the way against a slightly modded WRX, they will be blown away. He kept up pretty good, but i pulled away. And like i said, by 120 mph i was 2-3 cars ahead. Believe it...dont believe it. I dont care. There are guys with similar setups like me and an MBC and they can keep up with new M3's and the likes...check out chuglobal's posts. WRX is no pansy, especially if u free up some air, by getting rid of 2 cats, like i have. That Porsche doesnt have much on me, i prolly have 260 at the crank, and i was like 800 pounds lighter cause of the 2 people he had... His extra 60 hp cant make up for all of that, and hes AWD so he has alot of driveterrain loss. U do the math, and then tell me again if im full of it. IM OUT.
