I would rather have the Mazdaspeed Miata any day. Great value, lots of potential, lighter and more comfortable than an S2000.

$25,000 for a factory turbo Miata? I'm in.

Rented an S2K in Vegas and didn't miss it at all once I turned it in.
The car is a PITA to drive as a daily driver. The lack of storage, space in the cabin, and most importantly, torque! I could see it being a blast on a track, but I thought it was totally lame on the roads. We drove to Hoover dam and around Vegas for a few days.
One thing about it that I thought was interesting... the car's been out a while, but I still got a lot of, "What kind of car is that?" questions. And we seemed to get a lot of attention on the strip. This is in Vegas where Ferraris are a dime a dozen too.

I'm thinking the Miata weighs 2440, thats what Car and Driver said. Plus, I'm sure a new FMIC and reflash could net an easy 30whp. It has a tiny FMIC. Looks smaller than a cereal box.

    S2000 hard top conv.

    handles better than Z
hard top looks better than Z
    its faster than the Z
    lighter than the Z
interior looks and feel better than Z (seats are incredible)
    cheaper than Z

not to mention that a s/c'd S2000 makes crazy power, especially with the new s2k's that are running 13.8's stock

Ditto. Although if we throw "reality" ( ) into the situation I'd have to personally go with the MS Miata. My friend had one with a hard top and it was a blast to ride around in. I was surprised that it had ample leg room too, and I'm almost 6'

I have heard the S2k is pretty uncomfortable and harsh. Out of the S2k, Rx-8, and 350z Motor Trend rated the s2k third place. Made for a track, doesn't like anything other than smooth tarmac.
