I've had a few stoplight battles with stang GTs, I'm 3 for 4 in an '02 stocker pulling to about 80. Of course, most were young drivers (like I should talk at 19) and it sounded like they couldn't shift, the loss was pretty bad to a middle aged guy, not sure whether to chalk that up to experience or if it was modded. Never had the pleasure of starting from a high speed roll, but I'll save that for after I get TBE and a reflash.

Are you sure it was a 2004? Thats some pretty good numbers on the 04, although I'm not sure how big that interior is by comparison. What were they making in '02? A WRX may have more interior room and 300 lbs less, but not 300lb of torque either.

I tried to race a '04 Mach 1 on the highway, but he wouldn't. That would have been a fools errand.

The data is the same for the Model Year 99 - 2004. The weight diffrence between the WRX ang GT is 267 lbs. The WRX has a significant gearing advantage for 0 - 80 races. Highway racing I think that the GT might walk my stock 02 WRX.

The reason I said 300 is that I have heard the WRX weighs significantly less than its "curb weight". Anyone verify this?
