I had always worshipped LS1s when I was driving my stangs but now that I own one I can more fully appreciate the motor...the rest of the car is so-so, but DAMN if chevy didnt get the motor/tranny right!!

Not too bad for those few modifications. And yes, Chevy did have a few great powerplants. And when they started borrowing the technology that their NASCAR dollars created, a few of the combinations showed great promise.
Yeah, the 2000 Z28 I used to own had nothing but a lid, K&N filter and a Borla catback and it was retardedly quick.Nice #s man.

Nice numbers! The MFBA (Midwest F-Body Association) had a small dyno day here out in the suburbs of Chicago earlier today, too. Finish Line Performance, in Naperville (maker of the FLP headers) hosted the event for about 20 cars ($65 for two pulls with a/f ratios). I put down 400.6 rwhp and 377.0 rwtq. MTI stage 2 heads, comp cam (single pattern 224, .558, 112 lsa), FLP long tube headers, ls6 intake, ported throttle body, air lid, B&B catback, through a Strange 12 bolt w/ 3.73's and other minor boltons. Two Z06's were within 3 HP and TQ of me, only they had stock heads and stock cams
. I trap at 115, and they trap at 120+. Having a heavy 3950+ lb convertible (with driver) just kills me...
Still, it's nice to be able to put a few friends or girls in the back seat and put the top down.
