That wagon time could be right if he didn't launch at 4-5000 rpm, even with a 5spd.

Hey guys,
Ran at the season opener Tuesday at the local track, and my 3rd run of the night was against a WRX wagon. He ran a 15.248 @ 89.48 to my 12.902 @ 110.04
Is that a reasonable time for a stock WRX wagon 5 speed or is it more likely he was an auto?
Same night I saw some dumbass embarass me as a Subaru enthusiast.... he ran a 13.9 @ 93 in an STi. First off, he tried to do a burnout.... then he drove way past the staging lights and had to back up! I was hoping he would get a great run and give me an oportunity to run against him later in the EVO, but I didn't see him the rest of the night.

He ran a 2.137 60' time. Is that considered a soft launch with the WRX to preserve the transmission?Originally posted by josnroh

I think so. I ran a 14.70 with a 2.03 60' ft in my stock wagon.

I ran a 14.02 with mine and I'm auto.
Got the slip still need to scan.
Wagon will be right there with the sedan.
Well, guess we will put this one down to a bad launch on his part then.Originally posted by Beanboy

he was 4eat and did not brake-torque at all.
he was MT and did not launch it at 5,000 rpm, or bogged his launch.
Wagons don't weigh barely anything more than a sedan. Its driver skill. If it was his first time at the track i could see how he could have bad 60 ft times
there are not to many auto wrx about, especially at the track, so i am assuming it was a 5speed.
you have to figure, if this was he first time there at the track he was probably getting used to the staging lights and how properly launch the wrx. if you dont launch from a high rpm the wrx is a 14.4-14.8 second car. count in his driving skills and thats probably why he ran that time.
fastest time for a sedan is 14.0 or something, whats the fastest for the wagon?? stock ofcourse
