Arrow modded z28 vs. wrx stage 2

okay so tonight i raced my friend with a camaro z28 with intake and exhaust (i think more maybe i will ask) anway we did one from a role about middle of second and had him till end of third by like half a car. Then we tried from a stop and i did not have a very good launch and i think his was pretty good. I dont really ever street race. anyway we went from a stop and i had him till like 70 mph. i am currently at stage 2 and want to know if this should have happened or if i just suck?i have 212whp and 216lbs/t.
    thanks

Was it an LS1 or LT1? Considering your mods, it seems to be an LT1.

then it was a lt1. there good for high 13's stock you should be pretty close with it to 100mph. but then again he has mods.

A minor bolt on LS1 can run through the 1/4 mile traps anywhere between 107-111 mph, and can be a 12.4 to 13.1 car depending on launching capability, tires, trans, and driver (automatic with torque converter and drag radials getting a 1.7 60' vs 6 speed on street tires getting a 2.1 60'). LS1 Z28s have the flush headlights (1998-2002), while LT1's have the recessed IROC looking headlights (1993-1997). LT1's are probably 1/2 second slower mod for mod than the LS1's, generally speaking.

Not all stage IV WRX's rip off mid 12's, and those that do don't generally keep the stock tranny for too long. Make sure you know what you're getting into (and what you are up against). Have fun and be safe!

it had to have been an LT1, because otherwise he would have gotten torn up.

although the z28 was lightly modded, they fairly comparable cars stock, and the wrx has more mods, not to mention that the Lt1 has more than likely lost some compression.

stage IV should walk him if he doesnt mod anymore. like dan said, many people dont run mid 12's with that setup, high 12's to low 13's is more practicle, but still good enough to walk a very lightly modded Lt1

i think the stage 4's running mid 12's did it on race gas with an aggresive launch. although it seems possible either way. i ran a ls1 z28 a month or so back, we rolled from about 45, an i was running on stock turbo with usual mods. at 65 he slowly started to pull an by my 4th gear shift or so he had a car an a half. def. a fast car, but that came as no suprise. he said he had only intake an 13' rotors all around
