    I don't launch my car @ 6k either, so I guess I can't answer that for ya.

Heres what i am talking about

    STi vs 03 Cobra

theres no way that a car trapping at 105 can do that with out dropping the clutch at high rpm. There is no way.

Im sorry youre right but i was speaking to a Evo owner he is on his 3rd clutch i would think the same on the wrxs when you launch like that. I have all wheel drive on the audi too i wish that i had stick so i could do the same and be running mid 11s

    a 500 hp VIPER doesn't run mid 11s.

As far as AWD goes, I would race any camaro/mustang on a wet/muddy/dirt/snowy 1/4 mile and beat every last one of them. Our AWD systems were made for adverse traction conditions. I took my 250hp WRX up a 12,000 foot mountain pass in the middle of a blizzard with no problems on all season tires. SUV drivers were sliding off both sides of the road as I passed them with no problems.

As far as AWD being unfair for launches, we also lose 20-30 WHP out of that same awd system after the launch. But if you look at times on a road course, the awd allows for higher exit speeds in corners. Thats why a $25,000 car can kick some serious @$$. Of course extracting this performance is tricky and requires a lot of skill versus "mashin' teh gas"

Oh and audi has launch control on their automatics if you know how to use it.

Nobody likes an f'in troll. Got it? I have 50k miles on original clutch and tranny, no problems. I do drive it hard. Also, idiot, you can launch an AWD automatic. Its called torque-braking, which also increases wear and tear on the tranny.

Yes, actually there is. It's called "slipping" the clutch and some of us can do it VERY quickly. I've never dumped the clutch on my STi and I launch pretty well.
