No, not meA friend's friend has a 328i stick. He ran with a Silver WRX somewhere in NJ last Saturday. Not sure how the WRX was launched but the bimmer got a jump and by the time he shut down around 70, he had 1.5 lengths ahead.
I'm curious what the heck happened to the WRX. Bog? How bad could one bog? I guess it's all about the driver.

A bog or a badly shifted 1-2 shift can ruin a good run. I've had many times where I had a good launch but had a not so crisp 1-2 shift where it bogged on me. Makes about a .3-.5 difference in my track times.

If your not up to at least 3500-4000 rpm on a launch you are going to get embaressed. Most launch at 5000 rpm.

I raced a 330 from a roll and let him jump....i did some crappy shifting and had an extra passenger and it was like dead even.........the wrx driver must have some major issues, did you see a powerchair sticker on their car? Or did they have white hair?
328I manual is a very low 15sec or high 14 sec car if driven well.
if the wrx driver bogged he could have very easily lost the race. not only does a bog kill times in general, but the dig is where the wrx shines, so its kind of a double whammy
THAT IS SAD< those 328's are not fast although smooth and VERY refined, but not fast at all, I bet a RSX would kill one.

its not sad. the guy bogged the car. had he driven the car normally he would have more than likely walked the bmw, assuming it wasnt from high speedsOriginally posted by Evilevo8

oh sorry, needs to have a better launch next time. I thought it was flat out loss, not driver error...
