My first race in a long time, against a M3

I don't street race much, this was probably the first time in like 8 months I had a real race. I was pulling up to a red light with a new M3. Its was on a big road, 4 lanes on each side, so I guess 8 all together. The weird thing was this Jag pulled a uturn in front of us before our light went green, so I didn't think the M3 would do anything. Well the light went green and he got a 1 car head start due to me not thinking he would go, plus I didn't get a launch so there goes another 1-1.5 car lengths. But after that I was pulling right with him about 2-2.5 cars back, went up to about 65-70 mph then slowed. Oh I also had an extra passenger in the car. I had no idea he was gonna race, but he lanunched very well for a M3, nice short chirp and he was off. I think if I was ready I could have been nose to nose with him up to 65-70 mph and a little ahead before he started to catch up (of course he would have pulled harder once I shifted to 4th, then good bye M3 ). I tried to give him a thumbs up but he didn't want to look over, booo.
