with a cast iron closed deck block, these engines could easily be the next 4G63. start modding that f*cker and let us know when you nail your first STi.

AWD is the only saving grace. I have a hard time belieiving a sti is faster from a roll.

just playing skeptic, but what kinda dyno was it on? do you have a plot?

those are some ridiculously high numbers for a stock neon, very nice

I think it is a damned cool car, the only downside is that it is FWD. Not even that it is a huge huge effect on the car because of it, but it is more a mental thing and a feeling thing. I hope GM or someone comes out with a good competitor to this car that is RWD for around the same price, that would be very cool.

If he was at xotic, it's a dynojet. I was there too. If not him, I saw one put down same #'s on a dynojet.

Its pretty damn impressive I tell you.. mad numbers, my friend's SRT-4 made me respect that car so much... he has a Mopar Stg. 1 03 and we raced at an 1/8th mile track and i got him by half a car each time with a good launch... but from a roll man, that thing just ate me up and spit me out.

If those numbers are accurate, it's pretty impressive. No doubt the SRT is fast. But FWD in anything just doesn't float my boat.

Agreed, the engine is really built like a tank. The crankcase is split right down the crank centerline and the con rods are forged with cracked caps (rare).

Here is some great info on the SRT-4 engine http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...0scc_projneon/

yes that was my 04 blue at exotic motor sports. i have the graph but i am not able to host the the files. i also can't get the tq to appear on the graph just the hp for the 4 runs. owell. if someone would like me to email them i will. i was really impressed with the stock numbers. a few mods from now and i'll be sti huntin from a dig. motor mounts and drag radials will make it mid 13's a few power mods later should make it high 12's easily on the street. should be fun. thanks for reading.
