Today, I went from a 30mph roll to about 95mph with an S2000. I kept up with him with slightly less than full throttle, shifting at approximately 6000 rpm's. The S2000 then turned off the highway.
After I let off, I realized that my UTEC was switched to my most conservative setting, 11.5psi maximum boost.
Is it possible that the S2000 wasn't giving it full throttle or is it that easy to take them from a roll?

May I ask what you have? I want to run into one of those S2000 things![]()
Stock 2004 STi. He has a stock 2003 S2000. After his beating he says he is going to get the Vortech supercharger.
Oh sorry I meant the original poster, of course you have an sti you said soOriginally posted by Pirana

After his beating he says he is going to get the Vortech supercharger.and of course that makes sense, since that is about the power I am pushing and I would expect to spank one too. That is funny he is going to try the supercharger though... you will probably still spank him lol

Tell him if he does that, all yer gonna have to do is get rid of the cats, throw on a MBC and you'll still be on the winning end. 50 bucks for a JoeP, and 500-800 for a TBE. I'd even offer to buy dinner when ya spank him, since you saved so much moneyOriginally posted by Pirana

2003 WRB Wagon. Vishnu Stage 2(VF30). DBA 5010's/steel lines/Carbotech Bobcat pads, MRT topmount. Tein coilovers, 22/24 mm sways, ALK....I'M DONE!!!!!!
I have an aftermarket uppipe, midpipe, samco hoses, utec, catback and pulleys. If I had been running a more aggressive map such as the 16.5 psi that I usually run, or my leaned out fuel map, I really would have had to lift off the throttle.Originally posted by fre

The thing is that on the street, you can never tell if the other car is really trying. From what I have heard, there is a huge difference in an S2000 that shifts at 6,000 and one that shifts at 8,000 rpms.

So pretty much a stage2+ and you run 16.5psi? Damn, I run that with a VF34 heh. I also agree on the can't tell if they are trying, but who cares they don't try then they loseEr wait you didn't say you even had a downpipe hrmmm.
A VF34 blows more air at 16.5psi than a TD04.
As for the downpipe, I want to run one cat. By having the cat in the downpipe, I don't have to worry about cat efficiency CEL's. I don't like having a cat in the uppipe. A cat in the midpipe is so far away from the engine that the exhaust gas is relatively cool and the cat is relatively inefficient. Or so I have heard. That leaves the downpipe.

Yes, 16.5psi max which trails down to approximately 11 to 11.5 psi by 6,500 rpm's. Although my utec is mapped for closed loop boost vs open loop boost, its a pretty standard TurboXS stage 2 boost profileOriginally posted by AjIsDope
You're running 16.5psi on the stock turbo?![]()

TXS runs 16.5 on their maps? Sounds like it is really pushing the limits of the TD04. Maybe they just want to sell you a new turbo?![]()
Well, that would force me to upgrade my turbo.![]()

Just so you know any 2000-2003 S2000 if your racing will shift at 9,000 RPM. Hard to say how hard he was trying. You should beat the S easily at those low speeds. On a highway roll, it would have been MUCH closer.Originally posted by Rich10
