    Why is everyone running 11's

While getting some milk last night at the local 7-11 a young kid in a nice looking GSR-R asked me if my WRX was fast. I replied to the kid with depends on what you consider to be fast. He then stated that 11ís was the time to beat. I said then I must be slow. He then stated that he had a High performance clutch, flywheel, and full exhaust. I then got in my car and began to drive away. Two minutes later at the light he pulls up. The kid began to rev his engine like he was trying to stage a top fuel funny car. I put my slurpee down and looked around for other vehicles and the cops. The light turned green I launched at 4k and put 3 cars on the kid. By the time I let off at the top of 3rd I had 6 cars on the kid. Then I noticed that he was still charging and did a flyby. At the light he rolled down his window and said that I had him during the low end, but when his V-tech kicked in it was all over. I then asked him if he saw my break lights when he about 6 cars behind me. Why is everyone running 11ís? And yet get smoked by mid 13 sec cars all the time. Experience tells me that if you have a solid 13 sec streetcar, you will win 90% of the time.

Wait, so all he said he had was a new clutch, flywheel, and full exhaust...and that was supposed to put him into 11s on a B18 NA motor? Something doesn't sound right about that

Good job taking him to school though

the thing is folks..we drive a car that can repeatdly run its track times on the street..while those other fwd and rwd vehicles have to have stlicks, or a staging lane to heat up their tires..etc. thats why we get them 90% of the time at lights. good kill...no way he was running 11's

He probably IS running 11's...on the size of his tires
I also agree with the general consesus, that would have been
tradgic to waste a perfectly good slurpee.

Even if he runs 11's on the track, once you take off the drag slicks then forget about getting a good launch.

Also drag strip is very sticky to begin with. That's the reason a 12-13 sec street WRX can take any 11-10 sec track car on the street and have a good run with it.

Btw I don't think Lisa Kubo's super fast civic can turn But it sure is fast on the straight.

    ***UPDATE***

today i ventured out to the local 7-11, and much to my surprise, they did in fact have Mountain Dew Blue Shock Slurpees. so i waddle my skinny ass over to the machine and pick out the blue $1.09 cup because it had the Mountain Dew Blue Shock logo on it. gotta match em, ya know. so i put the dome lid on and stick it under the fountain and open her up. dayum that beotch filled up fast, it caught me by surprise. i then had a choice between yellow or pink "spoon straws" as i will call them, so i chose yellow, because pink is too gay for me to put my mouth on. first impression: holy sh1T!!!! this stuff is gooooooooood

next time, i'm gonna get a Big Gulp with a yellow spoon straw and see if i can down it in less than an hour. actually, maybe i'll mix some Skyy in with it. yum.

    What's skyy?

13 second 1/4 miles are fast, really. The only cars that can beat it are really expensive except the Camaro SS and that's one I can't quite figure out - I see Camaro SS's running 13.5 to 14.0 at the track all the time, but everyone thinks they run 12's - the only one I've seen running 12's (actually 11.99) was supercharged. Even the stock Corvette (not the Z06) only runs low 13's mostly.

12 second cars are Porsches (911 not boxsters), Z06 and heavily modified cars which are not good daily drivers like the WRX...
