you can roll your eyes at me all you want, I really don't care what kind of car you drive. an escort and a contour are the same thing to me. the only thing I know is you came here posting a thread of which was titled, "WRX's suck." let's be honest here. that was one hell of a first post. you are smarter then I ever could hope to be.

Wow, what a hot temper there. Am I insulting your car? Surely not. Can I find things to insult? I surely can. But you know what, I am a CAR enthusiast just as I hope you would be. If you read the whole thread instead of coming in the game late, you'll realize that the title was just an attention getter and I LOVE WRXs. Hopefully, it will be my next car. The WHOLE point behind the post was saying that I was surprised that I was able to even hang with one because I am scared of them otherwise. And the rolling eyes was because EVERYBODY and their mother doesn't know the difference between a Contour and a Taurus, more of a slap towards me, not you. Hate me if you want, but I ain't got nothin but love.

Ummm..yeah...I didn't try to insult you, that was probably why I wasn't even coming close. Anyways, you are coming late to the game if you haven't read the whole thread, it has already been discussed and I tried to change the title, but it didn't work. Either way, I wasn't asking for a good kill comment or anything either, I just wanted to get reactions on whether it was feasible or not and most people automatically raised the BS flag without knowing anything about my car. After the tempers cooled down and formed an igneous rock or two, the truth started coming out. I believe the tempers were related to the title, but it was NEVER meant to be that way. Oh well, enjoy.

Why is it all such a big deal? I thought this was a troll when I read the title but after reading the first post, I didn't think that anymore.

Having seen or not seen an SVT Contour before, I could respect it whether or not it can keep with or beat a WRX. I like 4-door cars and when they have even some mild aspect of performance in mind, that's cool. My brother's WRX wagon can't post times anywhere near what I can do in my STi...but I respect it. My PT can't post times anywhere near either car, though it's just a blight upon the earth...

Then we could compair trap speeds, since that was so important to you earlier in this thread. There are too many variables on the street that do not exist on a track, if you cant see that then your beyond help.

You know what you're car is just the same as a Subaru XT. And the Mustang is the same as a Focus. The Escort and Contour are based off totally different platforms. He was just posting up a kill and everyone freaked out, he probably did pull on the WRX.

so lets move on... this was a stock wrx. and guess what? who the hell cares about a stock wrx? your claim to fame about how wrx's suck is becuase you beat one in your de-tuned lx mustang, doesn't hold much water with me.

mabye you should of worded your post differently and mabye i'd have a different attitude towards the situation.

Damn, I thought I was the only one who realized that. I gave up a long time ago. A long time ago I too went on and on about how I loved the WRX. But there is no point with this group. You want some advice JohnnySVT, move on. You will forever find nothing but hate from a good portion of the guys here. If it means anything to you, I always like the Contour SVT. Always hated the regular Contour (my friend's mother and sister both bought regular Contours at the same time to get a good deal). They really turned out to be pretty crappy. The SVT is a different ballgame altogether. Great looks and sounds sweet. Does it share a lot of parts and engineering with the probe? I am thinking that it has the same 2.5 in it. I know the exhaust note is quite similar.

yea it has the same motor as the probe gt has 2.5 v-6 duratec, and yes they are very much different than and ford i have ever owned(owned 1 of each) but my favorite still has to be the CSVT!!!
They mod very well especially the 2000 models right JonnySVT?
Mine was a 98 CSVT and i was dissapointed about the performance it had up against the 2000 models...
