The engines seems equally as potent, though EJ20's exhaust manifold is kinda twisted...

I dunno... I'll pass on a torque curve like that.

Not for me. Big number though...

That's impressive power from a 2.0L. (streetable) Can't wait to see the next dyno run so I can see a full graph.

Again these guys just rolled on then floored it half way through to save teh engine, I think they had spiking problems, so I am SURE That the torque curve is flatter, that turbo is streetable.

In that case, what good is an engine you can't floor?

Looks like he said they were having boost spikes at low RPM.... just a boost control issue, not an "engine can't handle it" issue

If he's having boost spikes down low, his particular engine can't handle it, how could they not sort this out on or before a dyno run... i just don't understand

$100 says first run down the strip he'll be picking up pieces of the motor/trans. The 4G63 is an amazing motor, but it aint that strong without some internals. As for the trans, lets all say a prayer...

Of course if he already has a race trans in there, and decides to get some stronger internals, the sky's the limit for that beast.

The GT35R is WAY too big for the WRX.

i agree, and there's no way the ej20 is as stout as the 4G63. That mitsu motor is one of the best motors around, but 500+ whp will even make IT cry...(and break)

so you think its the engine itself (chamber deisign, cylinder position) or the intake and exhaust manifolds that put the EJ20 behind the 4G63?

Listen, teh Evo Motors are already making 500WHP on stock internals, they handle it fine, any more would be stupid.

I think that the wastegate they were using wasn't opening properly, so they were getting crazy boost spikes, SO they started later in the rev range to keep trhe spike down, also blew off an IC pipe.

These problems are now fixed, this motor will be fine down the 1/4 but OBVIOUSLY will not last as long as a stock block.

SO the WRX motor isn't as strong? Thought it was, met some guy makeing 420WHP on stock bottom end and cams (So he says but that fing car was OUT, beat very fast cars by alot so I believed him)

What about the STI motor?? IS it strong too?
