And to all the VTEC'ers dont whine about the wrx's poor gearing, we should be done shortly after 3rd-4th upshift. with somewhere back with you in our rear view mirror.

    unless your car is turboed.

The WRX has Torque advantage from a roll
    and AWD advantage from dig

Spanking out of the hole, close from a roll. Get a boost controller if he wont race you from a stop.
Jesus, what a fuking generalization again! One dude that drives a Honda said something and all of a sudden...damn.

Anyway, a properly driven WRX should take a properly driven Type R everytime mostly due to the launch. That's it. Pretty simple.

I think we're going to put on a Joe P MBC just for some insurance. You guys think we could break 14 with just MBC set to 15.5 or 16?

What do you mean break 14s with a MBC? You should already be in the 14s stock...

Honestly, I think this arguement is so rediculous! Read any respected car magazine, and realize that the WRX and the Integra Type R were NEVER mentioned as drag racers. Yes, the WRX posts respectable numbers 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile, but it seems we are forgetting where the WRX shines. On the back roads! The ITR is the same way. It's an animal on the road course or back road. At the drag strip or on the street from a dig, we all know the WRX would own an ITR, big deal. From a roll, the WRX would still win, but not by a substantial margin. With mods, just like any car, it could go either way. Whoever spends the most wins!
In March 2001, when Sport Compact Car Magazine first tested the WRX, the fell in love with it. However their opening paragraph stated "The $24,350 Integra Type R is really the only car that comes close in terms of power and dynamics." Personally, a well driven stock ITR will probably beat a WRX on the track due to its race set up. The stock WRX (on the stock rubber) wouldn't fair as well. But in that aspect they are two totally different cars.
However, if you and your friends have to argue about which is a faster drag car a WRX or Intregra Type R, you bought the wrong cars and are using them improperly!

well, not everyone can go to a road course to duel it out...the most easiest way to race is a dragstrip. dont automatically assume thats the only reason they bought their cars too. straightline performance is just a good benchmark to look at. if we all wanted strictly straighline performance we'd get a cobra or ls1 but the subie and type r are good all around performers still.

In the world of racing, 400lbs IS huge.
in "the world of racing" every 150lbs equates to .1 in the 1/4mile so youre talking about like .25 seconds or so in the 1/4 i understand that in a road course the 400lbs would come into play more but in a straightline run its not as big of a deal as people tend to think

well, i didnt mean an 03' cobra...im talking like a used 99-01 and no the ls1s arent much more if any. since of course they quit production in 02...you can pick up a nice one for like 24k or so.

Quite a few people would argue that an '03 or '04 SRT-4 is a better dragger than the WRX.
