Home is always home. I'm one year into a four year assignment in El Paso. Then I get to go back home where an 11 acre farm in the mountains awaits me, in sight of the Appalachian Trail and not far from the greatest twisties in Ga, NC, and Tenn.Originally posted by VetteVert

Can I go camp on your farm?
2002 Platinum Silver Rex
Hehe. There are plenty of public camping sites nearby. Just south of my home is Cooper's Creek, accesible only by forest service roads (fun for Subies). And lots of other sites up and down the Appalachian Trail.Originally posted by cnoff

Here are some more pics from the Dragon. I think I was one of the first WRX's to try it out back in April of '01.

I love that road. I lived in K-ville for a long time and drove it regularly, but not in a fun car(Jeep, Eagle Talon non-turbo, etc.) I really miss that area, but I am going up to Boone in October and may have to take a little side trip.![]()

where exactly is this place(Northern GA). I keep hearing people talk about. If the entire road is like that picture than i will defanitely have to make a trip down there.
Sobe,
Actually it is by Fontana Lake in the far SW part of NC. It really is an amazing strip of road for a few reasons: 1)There are an amazing # of turns in a 10 mile length; 2)Lots of elevation change with hairpin turns; 3) And the winner is: Cops DO NOT patrol this road on purpose. They know people race along it(best know by the bikers) and they just stay away. There is even a website that tells where the cops are
