Me versus my bosses Vette

My boss recently purchased a brand new 2004 Corvette coupe. Very nice car, other than the fact that it's an automatic (just not my cup of tea.)

Last night we had a little fun on a 4 lane highway on our way home. He is of course bone stock and I was running straight 93 octane and only 17-18psi.

I came up beside him and waited for him to hit it once at 65. As soon as he did I nailed it. I was in third and had to wait just a bit for the turbo to spool. We took it to 120 or so and I ended up about 3 cars ahead.

The second race he came up beside me and we both hit it at 75-80. I was in third again, but this time I was fully spooled. Same story as before, with me pulling several cars.

I spoke to him today at work and he wants a rematch after he does a few things. I told him I'd be happy to, but be expecting more boost from my side!

Yeah, he already knew about my car. Although he thought he would be able to hang with me.

Do you live just off of Waldo Rood? I've seen a silver WRX over that way.

Not sure where Waldo Rd is. I live off of Tryon Rd near Cary Parkway. I work around MacGregor so I'm cruising around there every once in awhile.

Waldo Rood (not road)

connects Davis drive and Cary Pkwy about .4 miles south of High House. I've seen 3 Silver WRX's the Cary area, one of which is parked off of Waldo Rood. Must be they don't like STi's...I've yet to receive a return wave.

That turbo doesnt really "wake up" till 21 psi. I was able to make 50whp and 70lb/ft more going from 19psi to 24psi.

Yeah, still selling it. I havent tried too hard yet (havent put it on ebay or autotrader) because I have had a few people interested from this forum and nasioc.

Youll take away a little more of his idea he can hang. 3 cars back isnt bad at all for him... Thats cause the vettes puttin down 300 wheel horse.

Impressive from the factory.

Just hope he isnt thinking about purchasing heads. Play time would be over. LS1's are so ballsy.

If i were him, this is what my vette would have
Random technology catalytic converter
Edelbrock headers
Bassani exhaust
z06 intake manifold
Torque converter 3200 stall
Cylinder heads
Big big michilen pilots (street) / slicks on 16" wheels (drag)

and a timeslip with low low 12 seconds, and 119mph traps
