On the roll I had him about 2 cars going from 40 to about 100 and at the line I had him at about 3 cars at 80 mph ,but he was starting to pull.F.Y.I.
As you can see, he post racing a TL-S. TL-S only comes in auto. Only the 03 CL-S comes with a 6-speed. Also, Acura does not make CL after 03. However, they do make 04 TL 6-speed, which has a different body. But since he said it was a Type-S, it can't be the new TL because the new TL does not have type S. Therefore, the 6-speed is out of the question.

BTW, with the mods in your sig, you could not gain on a 6-speed at top-end.

CL,TL, Av6 has similar engine (J30A, J32A). The more agressive cams is what give the S more performance than the Av6. It's not a 14 sec car off the floor, but can be with mods.
im sorry but my brother has a 03 cl type s auto and his car bone stock did a 14.7.. and that was in the dead of summer at like 88 degrees and humid as fock.. his best time so far with just cold air intake is a 14.5. not bad at all for an auto and the car is heavy to..

CL-s and TL-s are capable of high 14's but it depends on the weather and the driver and yes even though it is an automatic the driver still makes a difference.

Someone else already pointed out the differences in a CL-S and a TL-S. I just wanted to point out that what I think the other guy was trying to say was that if you start at 75 and then go, the Type S is going to walk from you. There's a big difference in 0-120mph times and 75-120mph times. The Type S is going to have the advantage in the latter of the two. CL-S (260hp, FWD, 6spd = a pretty friggin' quick ride)

looks like the acura suffers from milage gears 5+6, so if you want to race from a roll, and dont care about being arrested, keep going past 100, youll real em in... Otherwise, get a reflash, brakeboost, make sure your at 5krpm, and i dont see how youll lose... sure its probably got 220 wheel horse, but it weighs more, and it has just as poor highway gears above 80...

nice luxo ride for the acura, love the HID's and nice leather... But really i dont see the point of getting a 6 speed. Its still gonna be high 14 seconds. If those drivers wanted real performance we all know they would be driving BMW's, FWD just doesnt cut it...

Oh man, that had me cracking up! TL Type S is what, $30-32k maybe? What BMW can you buy for that amount new? Like a 325 or something like that? Yea, that's a stunning performance machine right there.

For that money, I'd take the G35 Coupe over any of those cars. I'm sorry, I just find it hilarious that you are on BMW's jock...seems like the commercials got to you. The only BMW I'd ever own would be a M3 or M5. All the others seem very overpriced for the performance you get. Just my opinion of course. Hope you realize I'm kind of teasing you.

    Yeah...what he said

    Hell...just "upgrade" to an STi:
    _________STi____TL-S
    0-60 mph 4.88 s 6.40 s
    0-70 mph 6.19 s 8.02 s
    0-80 mph 8.19 s 10.69 s
    0-90 mph 10.09 s 13.32 s
    0-100 mph 12.49 s 16.31 s
    0-110 mph 15.88 s 19.97 s
    0-120 mph 19.53 s 27.51 s
    0-130 mph 24.62 s 37.56 s
    0-140 mph 33.44 s 54.59 s

And why get an overpriced BMW...unless its the M3 or M5:
    _________330ci__TL-S
    0-60 mph 5.73 s 6.40 s
    0-70 mph 8.00 s 8.02 s
    0-80 mph 9.90 s 10.69 s
    0-90 mph 12.10 s 13.32 s
    0-100 mph 15.60 s 16.31 s

    And even better:
    Leguna Seca Raceway:
    330ci___TL-S____STi
    2:20.4 2:20.5 2:16.6
    2:14.1 2:14.9 2:11.8

Nuff said. Personally, if I were buying, I'd take the WRX over the TL-S and BMW. But thats just me.

Yea your opinion is valid... except the part about the G35 coupe... as it is not a luxury sedan... I'd take a 330i over the acura, and definetly over the G35 sedan. And a used 540i 6spd is one of the finest automobiles you can find for under 40k. and that i would rather drive than a G35 (any trim) . A last gen 740 is also very slick, and better looking than the new 745.

I know there are a few that feel bmw's are overpriced. In a nutshell they are. But after watching my friends z28 LT1 get broken down on a roll vs the 740, you gotta smile. The acceleration is very very linear. All the bimmers have great throttle response, and excellent highway gearing.

I cant afford a bimmer, but someday ill have my m5 or 540... the new styling sucks... blah. Gimme last generations please.

W3RD to that, I'm also not a fan of the new "Chris Bangle" 5's. It looks like an unholy marriage of a Pontiac Grand Am and a Toyota Camry to me...
